07:52 AM ET 09.27 | Jahvid Best had run for 26 yards on seven carries, with 16 yards coming in one burst. But he injured his toe early in the second half and the Lions went with Maurice Morris. Best missed some practice time in Week 1 with a sore toe, but he said this was a new injury. "Totally new," he said. "I got tackled on a pass I caught over the middle [it was actually a run]. I got up, and my toes wasn't feeling right. I played one play after that and it wasn't the same, so I didn't think I could go." The Lions had 63 yards rushing on the day and again stalled a drive with a failed third-and-two play. It didn't help the Lions also lost guard Stephen Peterman (foot) in the second half.

I had forgot that Peterman was still in the NFL.

If one of the Houston Rockets stepped on his foot, would he have missile toe?

that and bad luck has pretty much ruined their season so far. Schwartz has done a good job building the team though.

Give Mayhew a little credit also. The mess he had to clean up after Millen was extensive.

They still show signs of a team about to win some games. I think they'll end the season with some respect from around the league.

I thought this story was about a guy who injured his Best Toe... I'm thinking... WTF? Who actually chooses which toe he likes the best?

Monday morning are just harder to get started nowadays.

I guess this means he cannot go toe to toe anymore?

He's having problems toeing the line as well...

What? No toe truck?

September 27, 2010  11:57 AM ET

Much like Stafford they just need to take their time and let it heal. Until they get some starting caliber CB's and a LB or 2, they are just treading water. They are going in the right direction but with the mess Millen left, it will take another year or so of good pieces added to what Mayhew and Swartz have done so far.

Oh No!!! WE SUCK AGAIN!!!!

To say the least.... there is a reason why alot of the guys Millen drafted are out of the NFL entirely. Harrington, Charles Rogers and Kalimba Edwards just to name a few.
