07:59 AM ET 09.27 | Denver is reportedly still hard at work looking for a way to move Carmelo Anthony and possibly begin rebuilding right away. The Nuggets have made every player on their roster, except for point guards Chauncey Billups and Ty Lawson, available in the discussions, a league executive said. Along with the unloading of their franchise star, the Nuggets appear willing to overhaul their roster and send out players such as Kenyon Martin, Nene and J.R. Smith.

Said it before and I'll say it again. As long as George Karl is the coach Denver will not make the Finals. Anyway, if they're having a fire sale, other than Melo, Nene is the only other player I would want. Maybe give J.R. some Ritalin.

Why are either 'utouchable'?
CB is nearingtje end, but like kidd a couple years ago, could bring back good value
And no disrespect to lawson, but untouchable?

What ar they going to hoard pg's like Minnesota?

Lol... they are definitely confused. All this wouldn't have happened if Melo didn't care about the future of the Denver franchise. But he's been very nice by giving them two teams he'd like to go to yet they're being selfish by trading him to Jersey. Given his nice gesture of allowing the team get something for him Ujiri is being unreasonable here. Melo will be totally justified if he refuses to sign an extension with trades that send him anywhere but NY or Chicago. Afterall he can fake an injury and stay home this season or go on a farewell tour with Denver this season. Denver's misusing the little leverage they have and may anger Melo to the point where he'd play games to go wherever he wants after next season.

And they think Billups is dumb enough to want to be part of a rebuilding project?

You are being sarcastic right? Melo being "nice by providing two teams who have no assets to trade back is hardly an act of kindness. If Melo was really nice he would say "trade me where you can get the most back for me". NJ will be in NY in 2 years so they are the same thing for all intents and purposes and they will no worse than the Knicks with Anthony on their team.

WHAT IS HOLDING THIS DEAL UP?? MELO??? DENVER? LBJ'S MARKETING TEAM? WHO????

Its melo.....
I heard that the brooklyn move may be 3 instead of 2 years and similar to when marbury went to nj, who thought it would be the 'same' as going to the knicks.......he found out it wasn't and melo understands this

Also, realisticly speaking, the team with him, minus picks and a backcourt had a LOT of holes, and if its mot where he really wants to be.....he doesn't want to settle...cause he has a WAY better chance of wining simply playong out the year in Denver

He is doing that......
He supposedly will.sign an extension in 2-3 places.......that's where denver can get the most. They can still mov him elsewhere, but why would melo sign an extension where he doesn't want to be?

What are they going to get from the Knicks? Cap relief. That is it. If DG and Chandler may be good but if they were worth Melo the Knicks would try and hold onto them like Chicago is with Noah, plus NY doesn't have a tradeable pick until like 2030. Realistically, NJ can offer them the best package (right now) of players and picks

He is still holding out, hoping either Chi or NY gives a better deal.

Makes sense.... Billups is from Denver and will be loyal to the team and franchise no matter what. Lawson is his eventual replacement so with the the point all locked up they can form a totally new identity with whomever is left. alot of expiring contracts are coming up and decent talent to get rid of.. let the fire sale begin......

LOL!! I think they want to keep Billups and release him next summer for the cap room and replace him with Lawson....

whats up SD?

Exactly...even tho Lawson is not elite he will be the replacement for Billups so no need to trade him !

NAw I think its a mixture of Denver and Melo not wanting to go to a team that will be even worse off than the Nuggets.

why is it that everything that doesnt go your way is unreasonable or someone being selfish?

there is nothing wrong with Denver saying F Melo's destinations, we will trade him to what will be best for this team...the team Melo doesnt want to play for !

Denver would send him to Chicago but they dont want to include Noah & they would send him to NY but NY has NOTHING to offer !

The NJ deal seems good for all the teams especially to NJ if they can also get DJ Augustine from Charlotte !

If that firesale stuff is true, then they could include Nene in the deal w/ Chi and then it might go through.

a source said he is willing to sign the extension to go to the Nets...the hold up is Denever seeing if they can get any other team to panic & offer up more !

i personally think FAvors, AK47 & 2 1st rounders is better than Deng, Gibson & 1 1st rounder !

that cant be the case cause then why would he sign to go to the Knicks?

Melo would approve to go to NJ but Denver wants the best it can get before going with the 1st deal !
