08:09 AM ET 09.28 | Credit the Clippers for taking a positive approach. New Clippers Coach Vinny Del Negro wasn't even five minutes into his first session with reporters when he expressed concern about the shape of veteran point guard Baron Davis. ... "He started a little bit later probably than he needed to. He's in pretty good shape right now, but he's not where he needs to be. He knows that. Obviously, you want everybody in perfect condition. You have to come in training camp in shape. And the job in training camp is to get into better shape." None of this was said in a harsh tone. Not at all.

No, not in a harsh tone but a "if you don't get in shape, you're not going to play"tone...

QUOTE(#2):

Clippers have a pretty good nucleus and with Griffin back this season as long as Barron and Kaman remain healthy they should make the playoffs.

If the Clips can't make the playoffs in the West now that it has been depleted a little bit, they have no hope.

Baron should be ashamed of himself...he's a highly paid professional that should strive to be a leader and role model for his team!!! Not being in shape for start of training camp is just unacceptable and he should feel like he's stealing money.

Sincerely,
Eddie Curry

In defense of Baron he spent his summer working on a movie that will shed more light on the plight of inner city kids so what if he gained a few pounds while supporting a bigger cause. It aint like his weight knocks him out every season like Eddy who just eats and bones all day and night... how many kids does he have. I think they should suspend him without salary...

The Slippers have been "on the verge" of something for years, and it's never happened. Don't expect anything different this year either.
