Rivera tinkering with The Cutter?

08:14 AM ET 09.28 | Mariano Rivera is a simple kind of man. Don't expect him to fret too much about a few blown saves, or to alter his stretching routine in the bullpen. But Rivera was out there early Monday in the visitors' pen in Toronto, working hard with pitching coach Dave Eiland to restore the muscle memory that produces his fabled cutter. Rivera was trying to make that cutter, his bread and butter, right again. ... Ask him if he ever thought of developing another pitch, and Rivera looks at you as if you are from Mars, or maybe Pittsburgh. "Why fix something that is not broken?" he said. Only now it all looks a little broken, or at least frayed, and Rivera was out there tinkering in Toronto.
