Dolphins fans pelt Raiders bus

A group of Dolphins fans took out their anger on the Raiders for manhandling their team by pelting the Raiders buses with rocks and bottles as they departed Dolphin Stadium after the game. A bottle shattered a window on the fourth of six Raiders buses, with the glass falling inside on the occupants, according to a Raiders team official who requested anonymity. The damage was severe enough that the bus driver deemed the bus unsafe for travel, ordered the occupants off the bus and onto the five other buses. This happened in the presence of a police escort, without the main assailant being caught.

Real class act dolphin fans....It's not the raiders fault your team can't keep it's talent from leaving....or being cut....

Dante was on fire so to speak yesterday....he looked GOOD....

Most fans in most cities are classless, which is why I consider it rather silly when the mob comes down on one city for classlessness. There's an **** hole in one of every four seats, and in each and every town folks.

This is a shame and uncalled for. Cameron had his chance.. chose not to go for it on 4th down, chose to run it out and go into half time without going for the endzone. Plus I knew Culpepper was going to go off from a month ago. Who didnt predict that all his emotion, effort, drive and determination would be at 120% to beating the Dolphins this week. He himself probably loged more than 100 hours of film and helped the defense corrdinator plan the game. It was well played and they obviously wanted it more. Not all Dolphin fans are like that, the group I watched the game with were perfectly fine after the loss. Hard running by Ronnie Brown but defense and everything else didnt go our way.

Kind of makes you want to go out and buy a ticket to South Beach, you know?

At least the giants fans have the dignity to just walk out of the stadium after the third quarter if big blue is down and out...

October 1, 2007  10:22 AM ET

Well, it could be worse...if this were Philly fans, they would've used Molotovs.

October 1, 2007  10:26 AM ET

As you know, I read a lot of books, so I've learned things. And one thing I learned is never appear before people who don't like you.

So I have put forth a plan that will prevent this from happenin' to any team in country of America again. No more away games. If more people had mutrickelated at Yale we wouldn't have these problems.

October 1, 2007  10:33 AM ET

I think one of the more overlooked aspects in the treatment of the whole issue is that the JETS stink! Yeah, yeah. They REALLY stink.

October 1, 2007  10:51 AM ET

y not blame the orgiazation and why they suck so much?

October 1, 2007  10:59 AM ET

Real class act Dolphin fans????? How much class did Daunte show by sticking it to the fans and pointing out how solid his knee was. It was not the fans that traded you Daunte, it was management. You should have run up to the owners box after you scored and danced in their faces.

Nice game anyway. Glad to see Daunte still has it.

October 1, 2007  11:01 AM ET

HA HA HA ...Raiders getting their just DUE!!!!!!

Oakland has been DIRTIEST team for YEARS........see also Darryl Stingley

AND NO PackBrew42 Philly Fans would be SPITTING on their fans see also Strike Year spitting on KIDS!!!!!!!!

GO SKINS BEAT Detroit

October 1, 2007  11:21 AM ET

Raider fans take it out on other fans who are trying to dog out citizens of the Raider Nation (those with whom we are face to face). Not on the team that may have kicked our butts. And we had a lot of practice in that area.

But the corner is being turned and we are on the rise. D. Rhodes will be back this bye week, hopefully L. Jordan will be back and J. Russell in getting his act together.

October 1, 2007  11:31 AM ET

First off the skins will definitely lose to Detroit...in fact, I think I'll put money on it!! OH, then they will lose to Green Bay!

Secondly, you point out the Raiders have been dirty for years???? WTF? And what in the hell do you base that off of? I'm sure I could go through the last 10 years of NFL footage and find more than enough proof to show the Skins are dirtbags (i.e. Clinton Portis' big mouth and unethical statements). Every team is a little dirty whether it be on or off the field, I don't care who they are.

You need to think before you mash those stubby digits into that keyboard like a neanderthal.

MentalRay,
Are you saying no one from the team you root for has ever taunted the fans??? Are you kidding me? What Dante did was hardly unclassy. Pointing to your knee and saying it's okay shouldn't get people all riled up. If anything it should make you scratch your head and say "and why in the hell did we cut this guy?" Give me a break with the holier than though attitude. Every player taunts fans at every game, it damn sure doesn't deserve bottles, rocks, spit, beer, or anything else thrown at the players!!

October 1, 2007  11:39 AM ET

There is simply NO reason to throw rocks or bottles at a bus.

It is unacceptable and all means necessary should be taken to ensure it does not happen again.

Classless yes but lets not fall into generalisation.

Things are not getting any better or easier for the Dolphins it seems... Not to mention their fans.

October 1, 2007  11:47 AM ET

I still think Jet fans are worse.

October 1, 2007  11:50 AM ET

Frauddog, well said...again.These "jokers" have to always put there 2 cents in,but end sounding like idiots.Urnze :It is true, there are idiots at every stadium,it doesn't make it right though, but 1 out of 4>i disagree, more like 1 out every 10 and Matt d is the 1 out of the 10.Detriot will beat the skins(they have god on there side, just ask Kitna)Amazing how Porter ran his mouth and then ate crow, looks like the fans (who where throwing rocks&bottles)aren't any better. It gives the fish a bad name and at this point, can they go any lower?Daunte BURNED his X team in classic fashion,"Don't HATE the player,Hate the Game"!

October 1, 2007  12:01 PM ET

The National Media will find some way to blame this on Philadelphia fans.

Think we just found another good opportunity for the use of a Taser!

FERRELL 1,

As much as I hope Dolphins management got the message, it probably was downplayed by their fabulous medical staff, who probably, in all their wisdom, concluded Daunte would never, ever run for a TD again...

Man, are these people paid for nothing...
