08:38 AM ET 09.29 | Leandro Barbosa may not be generating the scope of headlines as Linas Kleiza, but the Raptors cearly hope for a similar impact on the floor. On the season's first day of practice Tuesday, head coach Jay Triano indicated Barbosa -- one of the quickest players in the NBA -- he isn't known as the Brazilian Blur for nothing -- will get every opportunity to wreak havoc at the offensive end. Though Barbosa, a former sixth man of the year award winner will likely come off the bench and though the Raptors, according to Triano, will not play a run-and-gun style like Barbosa's former club in Phoenix, the team will still be an up-tempo one with Barbosa playing a major role.

The Brazilian Blur...

Uhh - OK.

No one cares, Bro.

I don't remember him wreaking so much havoc that teams had to pay special attention to him. We used to beat them regularly!!!

T & R must be running out of Bron Bron stories to post.

It's a bad sign when Linas Kleiza and Leandro Barbosa are the guys generating the "buzz". Both are decent options to have, but that is as a third and fourth option. Not 1st or 2nd.

They will suck this year if they have to hang their hopes on him

Yeah, but they shouldve protected themselves because there was never any doubt Bosh was leaving town. The Cavs at least had the faint hope that LBJ was staying, but anybody who paid attention knew Bosh was gonna be with another superstar this year.

Toronto is an afterthought in the NBA! They are gonna suck again this year and Barbosa is not gonna dramatically improve their chances much anyhow.

they wouldnt have gotten anything else if they had traded him....because he wasnt going to agree to an extension..they did a horrible job of putting pieces around bosh and they are to blame for his departure

Oh I agree completely, but they couldve at least did what Denver is doing, they are not gonna get much either, but damn at least they are beating Melo to the punch.

They'll be better than you think I can name a couple of teams that are worse than them already. Twolves, Cavs, Warriors, Nets, Pistons, Kings, Wizards, Bobcats. don't sleep on them, they just might challenge for the last playoff spot in the East. they won't do much with it but at least they'll contend for it...

The Cavs, Warriors, Pistons, Kings, Wiz, and Bobcats are all easily better than them.

I'll take the bet that they won't be better than the Pistons. Pistons aren't good, but they should be better than the Raptors.
