08:43 AM ET 09.29 | The Rudy Fernandez saga opened another chapter Tuesday. Before Portland's media day even started, there was a question if Rudy Fernandez would leave his hotel room and show up. Eventually he came out of hiding and made an appearance at media day where of course he was asked about the highlights he put in his hair. Oh, and that other thing. The wanting-to-be-traded thing. Fernandez's response? He still wants out. Fernandez said he "prefers the European style" and wants to return to Europe to play professionally there. "I don't feel good in NBA," Fernandez said.

I sure hope that the question about the highlights in his hair came first. We've got to know about the important stuff before we can focus on whatever else is going on.

Well, take your bum **** back across the water! You just couldn't make it in the best hoops league, leave it at that!

Let the man go, let Portland keep his NBA rights should he decide to come back. Seems simple, so what's the catch?

Word!ps- why all the internatioal player stories today?

If he gets traded to Knicks he's blessed to be an NBA player 'not a lot of people can say that'. If he's in Portland or any other place then Europe is better. This must mean NYC is the best city in the world... but its sure not for everybody.

If you want out of the NBA then JUST LEAVE!!! Don't make us listen to this anymore. Retire then!!! Who cares???

The Catch....Rudy has a contact with Portland, this season $1.25m, team option for next at $2.2m, so pay wise he is Cheap....And Portland would need to VOID the contact, which then makes Rudy a Free Agent, then he could go back to Spain or.... he could turn around and sign with any other NBA team.

my instinct is to come in here and make a sarcastic comment at this kids expense, but I am going to take the high road and give him credit. Far too often do athletes pretend they are 'comfortable' in a spot for a big paycheck and just ride it out. This kid is saying straight up he doesn't want the money, he doesn't want to play in the NBA, he just wants to go back home. If he is feeling homesick then by all means Europe ---------> that way, but at least he had the courage to tell the entire world he's homesick and didn't want to be there. That is more then alot of athletes would have done in today's age with the money they make, is be honest and truthful to oneself. That sucks for portland but really, he was demanding a trade already so who in POR really thought this kid was gonna show up and give his all?
