Pettitte's back now a concern

08:40 AM ET 09.30 | It could be argued that the sidebar of the Yankees' stretch run, Andy Pettitte's health, should be the main headline. The Yankees' goal this weekend is to try to steal the American League East title from the Rays. More important, however, is their desire to get to Monday without any injuries. That makes Andy Pettitte's start on Friday night very, very important. Having made only two starts since returning from a two-month stay on the disabled list with a groin injury, Pettitte has been dealing with some minor back problems this week. Pettitte's back stiffened up on him during last Friday's start against the Red Sox, a game in which he allowed seven runs in only 3 1/3 innings.

Great - there is no way the Yankees can turn to Burnett. That dude is frightening ... maybe we can pitch CC on 1 day rest?

If the Yankees were smart, they wouldn't worry about the East title and focus on getting healthy. The Yankees have owned the Twins in the Playoffs-and during the season- so I would rather them play the Twins then the Rangers.

Yeah but if not for Molina he would have had several wild pitches. I was at that game and it was frightening. He also got tanked in his other starts in the playoffs last year. I wouldn't even put him on the playoff roster

Wow. Would have liked to see the Phillies/Yanks rematch but doesn't look like the Yanks will make it back. Here's hoping they do!
