08:31 AM ET 10.01 | Rex Ryan is still an excellent recruiter, and Trevor Pryce said as much when he signed with the Jets. "I'm humbled that Rex wanted me to play here," Pryce said during a press conference [Thursday] afternoon. "When this opportunity pops up, you go, 'Ah, I don't think I'm going back.'" Pryce said he spoke with Ravens coach John Harbaugh about returning, but noted that the Ravens took a risk by releasing him. "John was very cool about it. ... He said I really didn't want to do it, but I need that spot until Monday. John was very candid that they were bringing me back Monday. My agent knew that if Rex called, that is where I was going."

Plus he gets to eat all the Burger King he wants with Rex.

I know he's getting up there in age, but I just don't see letting Trevor Pryce go like that. Things are very strange in the NFL this year.

October 1, 2010  09:00 AM ET

Harbaugh tried a finess move with his roster and it didn't work. He figured no one else would notice, but he didn't count on Ryan, who was familiar enough with Pryce's ability and value to want him. Everybody likes to dump on Ryan, but he is smart and aggressive and does not seem to miss a trick.

If Rex calls we're heading down to the all you can eat buffet. Looks like Trevor hasn't missed a meal in a while.

Well he got his roster spot. Wonder who took Pryce's place? Is it an upgrade?

The Ravens added Hamlin, a secondary and special teams man. His only real contribution will be special teams coverage.

Don't know what happened to Pryce, but he hasn't played at all this year, did he slide down our depth chart?

As a Steelers fan, I'm glad to see Pryce go.

Shrewd move Rex. Harbaugh dropped the ball on this one.

Oh, so a buffet joke is 'substansive' ?LOL......

If you're Rex...YEAH! LOL!

wow the jets picked up a back up DE who baltimore cut. Harbaugh knew teams would see him out there, it wasnt a "shrewd" move by Rex. Harbaugh just figured no one wanted an old washed up DE and he could get him back after the weekend. Every single team in the NFL saw he was available, lets not act like rex pulled off a steal here

Exactly....more than half this fool's posts are kindergarten-esque jabs at Ryan's weight yet he'll call me out on not posting anything substansive.

Too much.

Pryce just turned 35 in August. He had 6.5 sacks last year after starting just 7 games. Is he on the downside? Sure. But Washed up? Not yet and every team needs good depth on the Dline, especially for a guy that can rush on obvious passing downs.

Good God, I can't believe I'm defending a lifelong Raven.
