Stallings expects Alabama win by 10 or 12

08:57 AM ET 10.01 | Former Crimson Tide coach Gene Stallings likes his old squad. [His thoughts on Florida]: "When I saw Florida early in the year, I was extremely disappointed in their performance. They just didn't look like the Florida team that I've seen in the past. They played pretty good against Kentucky. It's always going to be a good football game. Sort of like Arkansas, when it's all said and done, when you have Florida's team and you have Alabama's team, you'll take Alabama's team. The way Alabama can play defense and run the football, they're going to win. ... I think Alabama's the best football team. I think they'll win by 10 or 12 points."

With the way people are talking about Bama, I'd be disappointed if they don't win by 21.

I really like Coach Stallings, but you have to take what he says with a grain of salt. I'm pretty sure he has mentioned that he hasn't even watched all of Alabama's games.

I would have to agree with Coach Stallings. The Tide has had a great season so far and the Gators are Average. Bama is the better team in this game they will spank the Gators as the Tide rolls into Bryant Denny Stadium. ROLL TIDE!!

It's true.

I just read on the Gator boards that Meyer has cancelled the plane. They're just going to forfeit the game and forego all the injuries they were going to incur, both physical and mental.

The staff thought this would be best for the delicate psyche and soft, jello-like physiques of the Florida players.

Sure, there will be some ridicule, but it's better than giving it a try.

Congrats, 'Bama.

There's always next year!

I respect Gene though...

... believe he would call a spade, a spade.

Don't think he'd go with just a "homer" prediction.

Ha Ha Ha. Bring in a former coach and ask him who he thinks will win. That's like putting Mangino in front of a pizza buffet and telling him not to eat.

lol, that's funny FJ...

... but, Gene is a straight up guy.

When 'Bama was struggling under Dubose and had trouble finding a coach he was honest about their predicament.

I think he likes what he sees from the current 'Bama team and truly believes they are better.

He probably would not have said that between 2006-2008.

lol, that's too funny lol.

In my view, this game comes down to hard hitting defense, turnovers, and special teams.

Of course, if 'Bama rushes for 200+ yards Florida is toast.

I believe the S. Carolina game has canceled as well.

Swim, Tide!

the man is entitled to his opinion. and its ok to say, the only thing I say is if they lose then also be man enough to say i was wrong.

if you're going to make a statement then own it either way.

let me ask this, if bama barely wins at home and uf continues to improve, who would be favorite on nuetral field for SEC championship if it comes to that. because of this i think it puts even more pressure on bama to win convincingly.

GIE. Who was favored to win and considered the better team in the SECCG?

Florida was favored, but not by a big number. Maybe 3 points. As far as who is considered the better team was probably up for debate. Both teams were 12-0.

I believe Florida was favored by 2.5 to 3.5, and it was considered a tossup.

Seemed like half the "experts" picked Florida, the other half Alabama.

They were all predicting it would be close.

I don't think he's wrong but I do find it ironic. Truth is truth though. It's like I can say I think my team is terrible right now and might be 3-3 in about 3 weeks.

Exactly lol...

... although you may not know it by how some of the Alabama fans remark now, they're only three seasons removed from firing Mike Shula, courting Saban, hiring Rodriguez, being rejected by Rodriguez, then breaking the bank for Saban.

You don't see it now, but lots were not happy with the price paid for Nick and wanted immediate returns.

If I showed you some of the remarks after his first year of 6-7 and losing the final four games you wouldn't think it's the same man praised now by Tide fans.

Yea, what G97 said. I think it was 4 or 5 even.

You know how you got your QB knocked out in the 1st quarter? We got our heart knocked out Tuesday night before the game.

In reality, neither have to win convincingly.

They play in the "SEC", which means they get a free pass for a close win.

Actually, the winner AND loser will remain in the "title" chase.
