09:59 AM ET 10.02 | There will be no pouting, no hissy-fits, no childish blowups, no Youtube moments. So says Nazem Kadri, who insists he won't "sulk" if he is sent down to the American Hockey League. It appears we are about to find out if the young Maple Leafs prospect is a man of his word. You can pretty much book a spot in the Marlies dressing room for the Maple Leafs' first-round pick of 2009, especially after the harsh message delivered by coach Ron Wilson after Toronto's 7-3 drubbing at the hands of the high-flying Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena on Friday.

That maybe true for Kadri but what about Burkie?

every day is childish moment for B Burke

Wouldn't the Marlies be a step "up" from the Leafs?

October 2, 2010  11:12 AM ET

DEREK STEPAN!!! and yeah he's got nothing to do with it but so what

October 2, 2010  11:23 AM ET

The kid is only a 7th round pick- Give it a rest, he should be a Marlie for at least a year.
I like Burke btw... right guy for the job in Toronto.

What I don't like...is this new "True Grit" movie coming out. Something has to be done about all these frivolous re-makes especially one's with icons like the Duke in his Academy Award roll. Jeff Bridges as the Rooster, are you kidding me?

October 2, 2010  11:33 AM ET

i think i might have missed something but where did, dcruiser, argos, and others go?

October 2, 2010  11:51 AM ET

If the Leafs keep playing the youngsters and quit worrying about exhibition scores they could be good by regular season

Clearly a case of getting one too many knocks on the head and being unable to find their way back...

Slight mistake. He was a 7th OVERALL pick in the first round. I agree with you though, he should be a Marlie. Toss him in as the top line C and let him log major minutes to develop a little more. He has definite NHL level potential, but not playing as a 3rd or 4th liner.. He'll most likely need to add another 10 or 15 lbs of muscle and work on his 2-way game during this season and the coming off season, but he will be a legitimate threat in the years to come.

Do you seriously think Burkie puts up giant pictures of all future Marlies in the Leafs media room? I agree with you Puckhead, Kadri should be a Marlie but as usual Burkie ****ed this up. And I'm glad you like him. I hope he stays in To***to forever. :-)

Good catch...typo, I was really getting set to spout off on the True Grit thing...It really ticked me off. Jeff Bridges...Good grief.

Burkie is right for the job anywhere in my opinion.

I hadn't heard about True Grit Redux. I love Jeff Bridges but we didn't need this movie. There are tons of good books that have yet to be turned into a film.

But instead we get 3D gimmickry (Dances With Avatars), cartoon super heroes and remakes.

Is nobody capable of a quality original thought?

If it was Beau I would agree but Jeff is a pretty good actor.

Sure he is...but that is like someone trying to emulate 'The Goal' by Bobby Orr when it comes down to True Grit and John Wayne!

For a while I thought he had pulled a Lazarus and come back as Ron Wilson.

As much as I hate the Bruins, I am really excited to see what Seguin will look like.

Burke reminds me of Ballard but with some brains. No, he is not a miracle worker but he is good for the Leafs and what they haven't had in management in decades.

No, we certainly do not need this movie. Are these Hollywood helpers going to dream up a sequel to this one as well. I just can't wait to see who the would get to play Katie's roll of the Lady. JEEZ...I am serioulsly considering a protest...and not just to Jeff Bridges films...I think I will boycott the whole triad of Bridges...I may even write a book about it.
I'll call it, Three Bridges over a river of Koi.
Remake the Duke!
Preposterous!
