10:42 AM ET 10.03 | It may not quite be his last hurrah, but Paul Tracy is treating the 2011 IZOD IndyCar season as his last best chance to prove he can win at North American open wheel racing's highest level. And in an exclusive interview with the Toronto Sun at Homestead Miami Speedway on Saturday, Tracy said he is in deep discussions with two IndyCar teams to race the full schedule next season.

Does Tracy still think he won the 2002 Indy 500? That whole thing was becoming farce.

Yes he had a few issues today. Joooonya seems to have issues every week. It's not too often that Kyle ends up back in the same neighborhood as Joooonya. I heard a rumor today that Joooonya was going to retire and open up a seat for some up and coming young driver that has a desire to win. LOL

Is there a purposed intention here to avoid posting anything having to do with the chase?

It's pretty simple really. Baseball and football get more stories because they are essentially chat rooms that will get 1,000-2,000 posts on their top story. Advertising costs are determined by how many hits a page receives and that is where the money is.

lot of truth to that, but , if you are getting a thousand posts a day off topic, why bother posting a topical artical there at all?

Nascar has become to shinny clean, corp. correctness if you will compared to the true grit racers we had just 10 short years ago. Nice win for Biffle.

Definitely agree. Brian France has sucked the soul out of the sport. Those 'claw machines' in the arcade are more exciting.

I can't argue with that RR,it just seems damn unfair that an American down home sport like Nascar does not get the storys and headlines it Used to get.I guess thats the way it goes in todays day.

In the same day, articles attribute statements to ESPN that reflect:

1) Its not the chase that is causing the decline in viewership, in fact, the fans are more understanding of the chase and its a very tight race this year.

2) The Chase needs fixing and ESPN suggests among other things that it be changed to an elimination round type of affair, like "the biggest loser" I guess, especially since (in contrast to the first statment above) those in 9 through 12 are already out of it after only 2 races.

I dont know if I love love, but I do crave affection!

October 4, 2010  05:43 PM ET

I for one hope that Paul Tracy doesn't get an IndyCar ride. As good as he is, he's a jerk that I can't stand.

There's no reason to post anything about the Chase. It's like that movie Groundhog Day. Same thing every time.

Depends on the topic. There are certainly times that the baseball thread stays on topic damn near all day. Sure it strays a bit, but it's not that unusual to log on after work and the regular crowd is still talking baseball. It helps that poseurs who think they are all knowing (think SVT) are quickly humiliated and sent packing. It also helps that crybabies who can't handle having their team get beat on (think SVT & Float) are treated the same way. It is certainly not a place for those who can dish it out, but can't take it.

The football side is definitely different. Most days it goes off topic pretty quickly, but there are some good folks there also and it can be fun to catch up with them and chat.
