08:30 AM ET 10.04 | Carmelo Anthony reportedly wants to be traded to a big market -- to both win a title and maximize his marketability. Sources previously said he was interested in going to New Jersey, a franchise that will move to Brooklyn in a couple of years. Anthony, who has never gone public with his demands, was asked about his marketing prowess, and he said: "As far as marketing, it comes from winning. If I ain't winning, then nobody wants me to market their product." So he was asked: "Then why would you want to play for the team that won 12 games last season?" Anthony then said: "I never said I want to play for the Nets."

Can't wait till the chris paul to team________ next summer.....Not sure why there is even a need for a season, lets just keep discussing what ifs and fantasy teams

Now that's a man talking. This leaves NY and Chicago in the driver seat. With each passing day Denver's plight of losing him for nothing increases. Ujiri's reluctance to sign off on that trade will come to hurt the organization big time. Now they may have to take whatever Knicks and Chicago will have to offer... Maybe now that Boozer's out Chi-town will bite and send Noah to Denver as his new extension of 12mil per year along with Taj Gibson and a draft pick will match Melo's 16mil. No deng needed.

But if y're Denver is it even worth taking on Noah at 12mil per yearfor five years? Denver would also try to dump JR Smith and other contracts. This will be interesting. Denver's front office is in the budweiser hot seat by not honoring wish to be traded to NY or Chicago before training camp. I told ya Melo's got all the leverage. This Ujiri and the owner are barking dogs with no teeth. I love this game.

Now your using your head Carmelo.......

Just like a true politician. Diffuse and Deflect all questions with a conflict of interest. Actions speak louder than words, and you not signing an extension this off-season speaks volumes.

Just by all means let the organization know, you both can get something out of the deal. If the Cavs would have known in advance that Lebron was going to just up-and-leave it would have helped them BIG TIME!

Just shut up, Bro.

Get it how you live Melo!!!! Its NY or Chi- town. The Nets don't stand a chance if he is a man that sticks by his word.

why would chicago send over noah...especially with boozer hurt? that would make absolutely no sense.

With the Noah contract you can forget him going to Chicago !

I dont think a deal to NY is a doen deal since NY has NOTHING to give Denver back...might as well explore other teams !

Wishy washy superstars! What else is new???

oh Mr. numbnutz, CHI just gave a 5-yr contract to Noah. With Boozer down, WHY would CHI consider moving Noah??? What do you smoke dude?

him being a Knick fan should say it all...he also think any players NY sends to Denver for Melo is fair knowing that NY has garbage on their roster !

October 4, 2010  09:50 AM ET

He will end up in NY. Hopefully. Amare & Melo for nearly 40 mil/year. They will lead the Knicks to contention every year....for the top pick in the draft, that is. Just too bad that they've traded away all their picks for the next 15 years.

Melo to LA for Bynum. The salaries match up, Melo goes to a big market and the Nuggets get better value than anything they might get from NY or Chi.

Melo doesn't want to play for the nuggets, the nets, or the bulls. The bulls have always been his "fallback" team because he feels they have more to offer DEN, but as long as they are unwilling to part with Noah they don't have anything more then NJ or NY to offer. He has stated before his heart wants to be in NY and he will end up in NY. DEN would be wise to trade him for basically anything the Knicks will offer, because if they don't, he will just walk at the end of the season and the nuggets will be left all the worse. 'Melo said the other day he doesn't mind playing out the season if it means he controls his destiny, what makes everyone so sure he won't finish the year in DEN and become a FA the next summer? He doesn't care about the collective bargaining agreement because he knows the NY marketing will get him 2-5x the money he would have lost in the contract deal. 'Melo may be coming off as an arrogant jerk in the same mold as his buddy LBJ, but at least 'melo is being refreshingly honest with his intentions from the get go and continues to be honest with himself and his team. He will be with the NY knicks next season, trade or no trade and the nuggets need to realize that beggers can't be choosers. And no i'm not a knicks fan, but the writing is on the wall for those that can read it.

QUOTE(#17):

It appears that Denver has dumbed themselves into a no win situation.

Indeed they have, they are damned if they do and damned if they don't. They can't get equal or anything close to equal value in a trade since teams are willing to wait it out a year, and they can't just let the franchise walk away for nothing. They are stuck between a rock and a hard place and in this laker fan's opinion, they should trade him for anything they can get before it's too late. If it's halfway through the season and then they call up the Knicks, the offer will be significantly less. It may not be the deal the nuggets want, but you have to strike while the iron is still hot and the 'Melo deal is going to get cooler on the offers by the day as teams just bide their time patiently for the offseason.

Truly spoken man. That's a man of integrity. Some of these haters here just can't do nothing but hate... that's what they get for hiring a rookie GM... they messed up big time. I'd say Knicks send Curry, Chandler and swap 2014 draft picks. Take it now or forget it.
