Bynum out until December?

08:33 AM ET 10.04 | So much for November. Somewhere amid the drear and drizzle of a fall afternoon in England were two more recovery timetables that shifted again. Andrew Bynum now might be sidelined until December while rehabilitating his knee, and Kobe Bryant will definitely suit up for the Oct. 26 season opener but probably need two more weeks after that to regain full strength, Lakers Coach Phil Jackson said. Bynum said a week ago he would be back in late November, a timetable that disappointed most Lakers followers, but even that prediction might have been optimistic.

The age old saying continues to hold true......Big men with knee problems - Continue to have knee problems.
Does anyone dare sign Greg Oden to a 4 year contract when his bid is up the end of this year?

Only playoffs matter so no need to worry. Lakers will be fine. They have enough to carry on the regular season load until then.

Same as last year... and the year before... and I don't recall much of an impact to this team.

Agreed that this is a whatever in the overall scheme of things (as far as the Lakers playoff picture is concerned), but his apparent blatant disregard for the game and his teammates is getting pretty annoying ...

Bynum is needed (to some extend) only in the playoffs, that too against certain teams to matchup. The expectations are too high due to his horrible contract, otherwise he is just a good glue-guy, that does some dirty work, no more, no less.
Given Denver's disintegration, PHX's nosedive, Utah's nosedive, the only team to even be considered as "challengers" are the aged Spurs, who themselves have issues to deal with.
Lakers should have a much easier path to the finals than the past 2 seasons.

I just don't understand how he got away with putting off surgery to go on a safari and watch some soccer games overseas? At least try to do your job bro

Hope he plays in the finals. Don't want the Lakers to have excuses after they got schooled by the Heat.

He will be healthy during the playoffs and to close the season, but as a Laker fan this kinda grinds my gears. Instead of getting surgically repaired like Kobe did post championship, Bynum decided to postpone surgery to go watch the world cup overseas and didn't even bother to get the surgery til afew short weeks ago. /facepalm. Bynum apparently doesn't have the work ethic needed to make the most of his abilities and his lack of focus going into a threepeat is quite concerning, it's a good thing Kobe got surgically fixed and is ready to go because Bynum let down Laker nation.
