08:05 AM ET 10.06 | Gilbert Arenas, who after the Wizards preseason win addressed his role in Washington, seems resigned to departing. "Teach John (Wall) the ins and outs of the game and then eventually go on and move on, and I'm on my way," Arenas said. ... Wait a minute. Move on? What does that mean? "I mean, this is the NBA," said Arenas, speaking for eight minutes after the game and for the first time since barely talking to reporters for three minutes at the team's Sept. 27 media day. "There's few players that stay in the same city. Right now, the city is John's. I'm not here to fight anybody. I'm here to just play alongside him. He's Batman and I'm Robin."

Don't hate the guy for having genes ur parents didn't have to pass to you. If anything you should be happy they didn't take away your first breath, first step and first cry. There's nothing wrong for a player to believe in himself. He believes he can still be the alpha dog that can lead a whole city to a championship unlike Lebron who backstabbed his own people to be an assistant in Miami. On the real though if Arenas had a chance to ever win a champioship he just blew it as no championship team will give him the reigns. That said if he wants his own city he can rule places like Minny, Toronto, Indiana and Memphis as his star power will sell tickets. China is also an option so his wish is not farfetched.

I agree, Tony Parker didn't lead Timmy did, Chauncey wasn't the man guy the whole team was but in the last 20yrs Batmans have been SG,SF, Pf and Centers. Its always great to have a great pg but if you have another batman to lead, look at the Nash, Cp3, DWill, Jkidd they are all great but can't lead a team to a title.

The whole Arenas thing is sad. He went from being the underdog who worked his butt off and became one of the more exciting offensive players in the league to watch to the always injured, gun-toting idiot with an over-sized contract. Hopefully he'll have a strong season and redeem himself. Either way, his assessment of his lack of a future in DC is accurate. I think the Wizards and Arenas mutually feel he needs to go.
