09:27 AM ET 10.09 | Everyone from his ex-coach to teammates and NBA opponents all agree that Ricky Rubio eventually will be able to make the transition to the NBA, possibly as soon as next summer. Fans on both sides of the Atlantic have looked forward to the move ever since Rubio's performance in Beijing, where he showed a maturity and poise that belied his age in helping Spain reach the final against the U.S. Rubio has said he will likely move to the NBA after playing one more season at Barcelona.

The guy shot like twelve air balls in their game against the Lakers

yes and Barcelona beat the Lakers. Ason Kidd at 19 couldn't shoot either and there were those who said back then that he could never be a great shooter. How'd that work out? There is NO player in the world who reminds more of Kidd than Rubio. The vision, the speed, the defense.

I'm guessing that "Ason Kidd" is Jason, and you have got to be kidding me with comparisons of them two. Yes, players can get better over time, but this kid is not the phenom everyone was trying to make him out to be, he was even missing lay ups. I doubt highly he would be able to D up most pg's in the NBA, and he would be doomed to play for Minny whenever he comes in.

How would he be doomed to play for the Wolves? WE have a team that is definetly on the upswing. WE have put a system in place that matches his strengths by having players that can run and and have a lot of athleticism and mask his weaknesses with so many players that can shoot from great range. We have over 20 million in cap space. Possibly 3 first round picks. We got Michael Beasley, for two 2nd round picks. We got a coach that is running parts of the greatest basketball offense ever designed. Honestly, Minny is probably the only team that he would be a perfect fit for. Before you echo what the major news sources say, do some research. the T-Wolves are one of the most exciting teams in the NBA, and and one of the teams that will surprise a lot of people this year.

Exactly! I can hear the keyboard now.

I like Rubio, but all this hype and the true skill level in NBA is going to kill him; A Toni Kukoc at best! The media should let the boy grow up.

T_Wolves OWN him...ain't going anywhere else

October 9, 2010  11:42 AM ET

its not like the t-wolves are getting better anytime soon even with the addition of B-Easy

I've seen him play in person and he definitely left the speed and defense home. he's a gifted passer and tall but any great defense he plays is like the great defense Larry Bird was said to have played> push his guy to Mchale and Parish so they could block the shot. Dude is not an NBA PG right now. He'll get abused by most NBA starting PG and has no shot of scoring

Shoot, he burst my bubble, i thought we were gonna win the championship this year. He basically stated what everyone knew, we aren't championship contenders, but we will still be a much improved product this year.
