Mt. Zion (Ga.) Jonesboro running back Martin Ward is inching closer to a commitment to South Carolina. Ward, who briefly committed to Georgia earlier this year, said he's also considering Clemson, Louisville and North Carolina. The Gamecocks are his new front-runner, thanks in part to coach Steve Spurrier. "It's all about the coaching staff," Ward said. "Coach Spurrier has a lot of energy, and he brings it to the field. He's a real good guy. And the schemes he runs is the reason they're winning. It's very exciting."

The Gamecocks rematch with LSU for the College Superbowl in January bowl game..........yeah

October 8, 2007  09:05 AM ET

If Spurrier starts regaining his former recruiting form The Gamecocks will become a legitimate SEC force which automatically makes them a National power by conference association as well! Go****!

If LSU make it to the SEC championship....not sure who would be worse, and pumped up Spurrier team, or bloated Tebow team.

Ugh.

Hey Mark Richt...that sucking sound you hear is your recruiting base slowly circling the bowl as the Ole Ball Coach eats your lunch and steals your toys!!

Sincerely,

Tommy Bowden...Oh wait I'm screwed too!!!!!!!! Daddy can I get a job @ FSU when I get toasted?

A bloated tebow team? Losing to the number one team in the country "in death valley" by 4 points does not make you a bloated team. That was an awesome game. I would like to see Florida play LSU in the SEC championship. I

Not denying it was a good game....probably took a few years off my life, and liver for that matter. I think i'm still hungover.

I don't want to play FL again this year. FL has that mental thing...LSU looked like a deer in headlights. I really expected more from my team on defense.

Too bad the SEC beats the hell out of eachother in the reg. season then the Div. champs have to do it again in the champ. game. One tough conference to win. Whoever comes out of the SEC deserves to play for the NC.

Yup, unless you're poor Auburn that got snubbed a few years back...I'm far from being an Auburn fan but they had one helluva team that year.

USC dodged a bullet by playing Michigan because Auburn would have given a better game. (Going by clouded memory on the NC matchup...I know I'll be corrected by forum analysts)

If I was a player that actually had talent Id either play for peter Carroll or Spurrier and If you go to the gamecocks you can play right away rather than waiting for 3-4 years to get your chance

Georgia is going anywhere my friend. I think we are number two on Rivals.com recrutiing. If this kid wants to play anytime soon he better go to SC.

October 8, 2007  09:53 PM ET

Georgia just got a running back to verbal last week, and that's why this kid defected. Plus Knowshon is a redshirt freshman.
