08:22 AM ET 10.11 | Ricky Rubio has yet to make his NBA debut, but that may not mean he isn't ready, at least according to Kobe Bryant. Bryant isn't among Rubio's critics. "This my third time playing against him, and he is definitely ready to play in the NBA," the Lakers' star said. "The kid can play. I felt like in the Olympics he played very well and showed a lot of poise and he reads a lot of things that average players don't." Everyone from his ex-coach to teammates and NBA opponents all agree that Rubio eventually will be able to make the transition to the NBA, possibly as soon as next summer.

You must be talking about Knick Guards.....because Kobe didnt even "use" Allen in this year's Finals...much less Wade,Manu,Roy etc.

What's your definition of "use?" Kobe averaged 28.6 ppg during the 2010 Finals despite being hounded by Ray Allen and double teamed-- to say nothing of playing with a broken pointer finger on his shooting hand, a busted knee and a bum ankle.

Kobe will be the next GM for the Lakers... Or is he the GM now?

October 11, 2010  11:15 AM ET

docmadlab in the house....kobe is solid and if he thinks the kid is ready, why should we doubt his opinion?....and for the record, he didn't say Rubio is ready to be an elite NBA player, he said he is ready to play in the NBA
