Minaya still in Mets' future?

08:35 AM ET 10.11 | Mets fans, Omar Minaya may wind up sticking around in Queens. If Sandy Alderson becomes the next general manager of the Mets -- and at this moment it is hard to imagine a different outcome -- [his predecessor] could be well-positioned to remain active in the organization. ... Minaya is not expected to make a decision about his future for at least another month, several weeks after the Mets name a new GM (that will likely happen before the World Series). Some time this winter, though, the team and Minaya will discuss his future. Still owed more than $2 million over the next two seasons, Minaya has built many strong relationships with other executives in the league, and is generally respected as a talent evaluator.

If they have to pay him anyway might as well put him too work. The consession lines are long, maybe he can help out and sell some beer.

if the mets really want to overcome the las 3 failures seasons, they have to really clean the house regardless how much affection the owners have for minaya, if the mets inssisted to hold on to minaya their future will get even worse than already it is!

The Mets are split on Alderson, so he appears a no go

October 12, 2010  08:11 AM ET

Since the Wilpon's and Mets still owe Omar Minaya $2-Million they should employe him to sale some peanuts and beer during games or assign him to evauate the groud crew for all the damage to the organization he's responsible for
