Vols moving away from Simms?

08:44 AM ET 10.12 | A Tennessee fourth-quarter drive may have been a sign of things to come, namely a young corps led by freshman quarterback Tyler Bray. Much of the focus will be on Bray, who completed 8 of 12 passes for 81 yards in mop-up duty. After struggling to adjust to college life and the speed of the college game since arriving on the UT campus, Bray seems to be asserting himself. That doesn't mean he's replacing junior Matt Simms. Although Simms threw a first-quarter interception that helped fuel Georgia's fast getaway, he came back to hit 9 of 13 passes for 179 yards. He hooked up with Hunter on a 38-yard touchdown pass.

Simms + Bray = UT Simms QB controversy. Its Deja Vu all over again Circa 2000.

can't have a Simms in college without a UT QB controversy!

I say let Simms finish out the year. He deserves it with all the hits he's taken. He just keeps getting back up and going after it. It's hard to put up great numbers when you spend most of the game on your back.

This will give Bray more time to eat some friggin' sandwiches.

Dooley said yesterday that Bray is 2nd string for a reason.
He said the controversy was because "the 2nd-string QB is always the fans' most popular person on the team".
I still think Bray might be getting some more playing time in the next couple of games. He has better vision and a stronger arm than Simms.

Not if it's like the game last year.

I hope the Vols can at least give bama a good game like last year.
It would help if Julio Jones is still out by then due to his surgery, and Ingram and Richardson sprain their ankles against Ole Miss, McElroy and McCarron get the flu, Barron and Hightower get arrested in a barroom brawl, Kirkpatrick and Lester are put on probation for improper benefits from an agent, and Mosley and Nico Johnson get lost the day before the game on a fishing trip.
THEN I think the Vols might have a chance to give 'em a really good game.

If so, I'd like to go back a couple weeks when my team didn't have two losses....

If any of this s.#.i.t happens I am comming looking for you.

Are any of the Simms' quarterbacks any good?

I know daddy Phil had that magical SB performance versus Denver, but, my goodness...

... beyond that he was average at best, and his sons are far below average.

I guess the Manning's win the QB competition as to which legacy is more productive lol
