Ryder Cup Cigar Man unmasked!

09:51 AM ET 10.12 | It was the greatest mystery in golf since Walter Hagen lost the Wanamaker Trophy: Who was that loveable Cigar Man lurking in the back of a photograph of Tiger Woods chipping at the Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor? With his oversized, Groucho Marx mustache, debonair cigar and devil-may-care attitude, Cigar Man captured the world's imagination, or at least the portion of the world with decent Photoshop skills and extra time on their hands. Cigar Man soon appeared in photos with Abraham Lincoln and Homer Simpson and even a rap video. The Daily Mail (UK) found Cigar Man's secret identity. His name is Rupesh Shingadia and he's a 30-year-old investment analyst who lives in London. His costume was a tribute to Spanish golfer Miguel Angel Jiminez. Rupesh confirms: 'I have never done anything like this before. I'm just an ordinary guy who loves golf and ??follows Arsenal. If I had known the incredible reaction it would produce, the way that Cigar Guy has snowballed, I would probably never have put on my costume. That said, I'm glad it has put a smile on people's faces.' Currently single, he was unaware of the marriage proposals delivered via Facebook. Perhaps he might wish to trade on that? 'I'm not so sure,' he says. 'I'd want them to love me for who I am ??? not just Cigar Guy.'
