08:23 AM ET 10.15 | Impressive numbers aside -- 24 points, 14 boards -- Thursday night, merely playing basketball has Blake Griffin encouraged. "Last year, 41 times, I drove to the arena and put on a suit and sat and watched," he said. "So to actually be back and play is awesome. I think it's going to be a fun year." Griffin amended that last statement right away, saying: "It is going to be a fun year with the way we play. Fans will have things to look forward to." ... Before the game, the Nuggets' Kenyon Martin was talking to Denver Post reporter Benjamin Hochman about Griffin. "He's crazy-athletic, plays hard, plays the game the right way," Martin said. "That's what I love about him."

My early early prediction for ROY is Griffin.

But the clippers always seem to mess up somehow...

But on the plus side griffin is going to have a spectacular season along side gordon that's a good 1-2 punch combo.

October 15, 2010  10:32 AM ET

He plays for the Clippers...

October 15, 2010  10:35 AM ET

I like Blake Griffin. I don't like Kenyon Martin.

griffen is not a "blue light" special. the man can ball and should be in contention for roy. a year late but better late than never.

Not really a year late......when you consider that this would've been his senion year at Oklahoma U.

Should be an interesting season for the Slippers--but they've been known to shoot themselves in the foot, so I won't hold my breath.

QUOTE(#8):

Great he's back. Now if only the big guy in Portland can get healthy and play a few games.

Yeah right, when Sam Bowie (oops) I mean Greg Oden gets healthy (ha, ha) then Brandon Roy and Aldridge will have some legit help. Let's face it, Oden was injured in college and he's been injured his entire NBA career. Even if he does come back, he'll play tentatively because he'll be afraid of reinjuring that knee. Sorry, but I beleive Greg Oden will be a bust!

But, on the other hand, I think the world of Blake Griffin. With him, Eric Gordon, Baron Davis, Chris Kaman all healthy, the Clippers have a legit chance at the playoffs. YOu see what Vinnie was able to do with the talent he had in Chicago, well I believe with Griffin in the lineup, that talent is better than what he had last year to work with. Now, if Vinnie will learn some new plays!

these guys are like the knicks. anything bad go happen..

October 15, 2010  11:58 AM ET

I'm declaring a 2 way race for ROY between him and JWall

October 15, 2010  12:13 PM ET

The boy's a beast. and K-Mart good for co-signing because Blake Griffin is Kenyon Martin circa 2001-2002, only a little bigger and more skilled. Ok, only better.

Assuming #1 are the Lakers, who is your "lock" for #2? Just curious as I think the #2 spot can be grabbed by a few teams.
