Billick giving up play calling?

If the Ravens don't improve Sunday against the Rams, they'll be facing much more dire straits than they were a year ago. And if the offense again operates like a pen with no ink, Brian Billick might have to borrow a page from his own playbook -- and find someone else to call the plays. Such a move might not seem likely, but it's becoming increasingly necessary.

At least they weren't called classless. Just stupid...

little late in the season to start looking for an offensive coordinator..

Let Rick Neuheisel call the shots.

By the way, what are the odds that two former starting QBs from the strike year of '87 are now a head coach (Sean Payton) and an OC (Neuheisel)?

About time time and who do you fire if that does not work

October 10, 2007  08:22 AM ET

it sure seems like he's been trying to blame the team's offensive struggles on somebody else for years now - and now that HE'S been calling the shots, he has noone to blame but himself, except that's not his style. Probably the players' faults fo not listening/executing probably. Or the media, for taking too many pictures and blinding the receivers with the flashes as they try to make the catches. I imagine Jim Fassel is still up for the job...

Don't do it too quickly. People are making a fortune betting the "under" when the Ravens play, especially when they are winning with nine points.

October 10, 2007  08:52 AM ET

Last time Billick gave up playcalling he had to fire his "best friend" Jim Fassel....

I don't see this lasting too long, nor going to well either....

October 10, 2007  08:57 AM ET

It doesn't matter who calls the plays in B-more, what they need is a new head coach period. Over the last five years, Billick has been handed a team LOADED with talent and potential and has done nothing with it. Sure he had a good record last year, but the Steelers were in a down year (at 8-8) and the Bengals turned back into the Bungles. End result...the Ravens played exactly one more game than the rest of the division, and lost...at home. Billick stinks.

He has made some pretty poor play-calling decisions. I've yet to watch a Ravens game this year in which they didn't do something that made me very confused.

That must come easily to you, mushroom boy.

Huh? <looks around sluggishly>

Just curious but are those plastic Army men kissing in your picture? You didn't get out much as a kid did you?

October 10, 2007  09:55 AM ET

Actually I shouldn't make fun of Billick's play-calling too much. That way I can take more pride in the fact that SF held them to 9 points.

Baby killers, you mean like democrats? Sure why not....

October 10, 2007  10:14 AM ET

Yeah, "kill 'em all," that's your motto, ain't it?

Vegetation, babies, Vick's dogs, everything.

October 10, 2007  10:32 AM ET

Kill em all huh? Get in line buddy....

Now serving number 98....

Forgive my impertinence. It's the lingering effects of EST.

B.B. ( Birdbrain Billick ) Has been imitating a HC for too many years. I f 90% of the fans can see that he is not qualified to coach in the NFL why can't the owners ? This guy is a Public relations spin doctor.

Was it enough to drive you back to the Vick threads, Ferrel?
