Suzyn Waldman was unapologetic Tuesday for choking up and sobbing briefly in her report Monday night on WCBS-AM after the Indians knocked the Yankees out of the playoffs. "That's who I am," she said. "It's unusual, but not for me. I am emotional. I'm a conduit between the players and the fans, and everyone was crying."

"Oh, no tears please. It's a waste of good suffering!"

"The suffering. The sweet, sweet suffering."

how stupid

She's an embarassment. What is she, 10 years old? Hey Suzyn, it's baseball, not life and death.

Georgie Girl Cries....She is high......she deep.....she's gone.....A S-Bomb from a loser!

October 10, 2007  07:30 AM ET

I bet she isn't the only Yankee fan who cried after the game..Joe Torre probably is still sobbing!!!

October 10, 2007  07:32 AM ET

A reporter who shows emotion? Surely you jest.

I wouldn't mind seeing more of that.

October 10, 2007  07:40 AM ET

I have seen plenty of players cry - but she is a damn reporter.

WONDER HOW MANY CATS SHE OWNS - hahahachokeassholehahaha

October 10, 2007  07:43 AM ET

This just shows that reporters have biases too, which is why we need to examine the motives of reporters who criticize sports teams. Take the overblown PATRIOTS so-called "cheating scandal," the columnists who won't let it go or refuse to view it in one of the many contexts available to them. Dr. Z was a former JETS beat writer, for example.

She is SO annoying. Seriosuly, anybody from the NY area enjoy listening to her?

October 10, 2007  07:50 AM ET

"There's no crying in baseball"!

-Tom Hanks

We need a photo of her - er, maybe not?

October 10, 2007  08:04 AM ET

jackmanrob,

We most certainly do not. Though she sings OK. She does the National Anthem once in a while.

October 10, 2007  08:12 AM ET

Her tears taste so sweet and yummy.

October 10, 2007  08:19 AM ET

I have not cried at a loss since the Vikes with Tarkenton got killed in the SB. Think I may have stabbed my eye with the rabbit ears though.

October 10, 2007  08:20 AM ET

The rest of the article is good. Chip Caray said Kei Igawa is from the Yankee farm system. lol.

October 10, 2007  08:21 AM ET

Waste of a reporter.

October 10, 2007  08:24 AM ET

I cried after the Eagles lost the Super Bowl to the Pats. I was sitting by myself in the Hard Rock Cafe in Lisbon and crying like a baby. I also pushed my beer mug off the table, asked for another one, they said that I'd had enough, and then I cried some more in the taxi on my way home. Sad day.

October 10, 2007  08:30 AM ET

Rude but interesting theory Biscuit. Sad Jazinho - because you spilled your beer?

October 10, 2007  08:33 AM ET

Let's just say that it didn't help matters any.

Wow. Embarrassing. So much for professionalism.

Hey Suzyn, the next time you bring up the 26 WS victories, Curse of the Bambino or some other annoying chestnut, THINK BACK to the time you broke down on TV and how you humiliated yourself. Try to understand that this is why the Yankees and some of their more obnoxious fans are hated throughout America.

It's not always going to be about you and your team. The Yanks don't have some sort of birthright to the playoffs or WS. It's OK for a team to lose in the playoffs. The Yanks will still play ball next year and will likely make the playoffs again.

One final thought: you are not in 3rd grade. Stop behaving as if you were.
