10:49 AM ET 10.16 | Dolphins radio analyst Joe Rose said he hears the calls for Chad Pennington "every day" on his morning show on 560 WQAM, and more than a few pleas for third-string quarterback Tyler Thigpen. Those callers will get more strident if Chad Henne struggles Sunday at Green Bay. "This is no disrespect to any fans out there," Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano said, "but I could care less what they think about the quarterback situation."

Good for him.

"...but I could care less what they think about the quarterback situation. I mean, if I want to put in Henne, Jeff George, Jay Cutler or Bozo the Clown, I'll do it because I am the coach. If I decide that I'm the best solution, you'll see me under center."

Tyler Thigpen? All the booze and sunshine in Miami making some folks delirious.

Ditto. And Pennington has proven time and time again he isn't the answer to anything. Maybe the Miami fans want to see what it's like to have their QB injured. Chad is the man for that.

That is good, because their is nothing behind door number two or door number three. And door number one is no grand prize.

Dolphins fans are so fickle...

Dolphins quarterbacks will always be held to a higher standard due to a certain guy along the line. What's troubling about Henne is that he's still making the same mental errors, like staring receivers down. That needs to be worked on immediately, otherwise the panic will only continue. The guy seems to hit a wall in his progression.

That being said, the move was made and Henne is the man. I am a huge Pennington fan from the Marshall days, but putting him back in the driver's seat will do more harm than good. At this stage in the game, he's not a long-term solution and not a vast improvement over Henne and making a move will probably ruin Henne more than help the Dolphins. Work with Henne to eliminate the mental errors, because the arm is there in spades. His upside is huge.

Chad Henne is Gartbage !

I think so too. Henne hasn't had enough time yet to push him out. He's showed flashes, he's as good as any other 2nd year QB (second year starting). Good presence

Gartbage? My condolences to your third grade teacher.

Why should they be held to Marino's standards? He only took them to one SB and lost it. Why not Bob Griese's standards?

October 16, 2010  01:11 PM ET

And, oh yeah, he said he "could" care less so obviously he isn't trying hard enough to care less.

October 16, 2010  01:13 PM ET

Sparano doesn't know football OR grammar. And he "couldn't care less" about it.

True - better to take the $2 than be stuck with the ointment.

Pennington provided the only winning season this team has seen in years, so I can't say that statement is accurate. Henne is young and has skills but he's raw and makes constant mental errors. Pennington wouldn't make those mistakes. He can't make the deep throw, but though Henne has the arm for it, he hasn't been making that throw either. The fans are pushing for accuracy over arm, and Penny is the most accurate passer and one of the most savvy in the game. They'd probably have won the Jets game if he was playing.

I guess Dolfans still haven't forgotten that Marino guy

Probably because Dan Marino was a much better quarterback than Bob Griese, DUH!

October 17, 2010  10:50 AM ET

Not granting credence to what the fans are calling for is not disrespectful, but saying it the way he did is.

But what they think about his mustache, well, that's another matter.
