Houston's short Knicks window

Allan Houston will return to practice for the Knicks on Friday, but the 36-year-old will not have much time to make the team. He has less than three weeks to convince management that he can still play -- and that it is worth waiving or trading someone to make room for him.

Can anyone say BUM??? I hate this dude more than any other player in the leage for the simple fact that he ruined numerous Knicks seasons by refusing to have surgery on those warn out knees. I do not understand for the life of my why the knicks even gave him a second chance to begin with...

October 11, 2007  09:09 AM ET

this guy single handedly demolished the knicks...the only reason i see them giving him a try is to laugh in his face and cut him and tell him how big of a loser he really is. I mean seriously he should PAY the knicks the veterns minimum to play. He got enough money out of them

BUM - there i said it

Jerzy Man I know why they gave him a 2nd chance......look who is in charge...Dum-Lan and Zeke ..... what Powerful dummies can do to a team

People

I wrote about this a month ago. Be assured this is a Dolan move. Just like when Houston was going to be used as the poster boy for the amnesty one time rule. Dolan told Isiah Houston will retire and to waive someone else. Dolan and Houston are friends.

If we lose Nichols because Houston needs a roster spot, I will not be happy. Waive James, Malik or whatever, Nichols must say.

6???8??? SG that plays defense.

I am more concerned with how much money this is costing the Knicks, and how many years.

Message to Dolan

As a season ticket holder, I feel disrespected this theft is wearing my jersey again. Sure he is a nice guy, but we should be developing the young talent. Every time he takes a shot that is one less shot for the next generation.

October 11, 2007  10:29 AM ET

Glad Jersey told him there's no room!!! He won't last half the season, that's if he even makes the team!

October 11, 2007  10:31 AM ET

Welcome to the group of people that realized a long time ago Dolan has no idea what he is doing, and shouldn't be running the Knicks.

October 11, 2007  10:32 AM ET

Someone should explain the reason his knee feels good is because he isn't running and jumping on it for a full game.

October 11, 2007  11:11 AM ET

I'd like to announce i am coming out of retirement to try out for the Knicks. My youth (age 34) and well rested body will be a benefit to the team. Thanks for your support

October 11, 2007  11:12 AM ET

Ok...and that makes the Knicks better? Please... NY has fallen off the face of the earth in all sports. Yankees suck...Knicks suck... Giants suck...who else?

Don't get my statement twisted. The knicks will win 45 games this year with or without Houston. Meaning they are moving in the right direction.

Unless they are move contract, I want no part of this.

October 11, 2007  01:08 PM ET

Allan Houston is going to realize in 3 weeks, that he made a mistake and then he will retire on his own terms. Maybe he will even get Dolan and company to give him a retirement press conference, and a standing ovation at the home opener.

October 11, 2007  02:17 PM ET

If Houston can learn how to harass women, he'll be a bonafide Knick

October 11, 2007  03:08 PM ET

How are they going to fit him in. We have crawford whose had his best season and is our go to guy in the clutch and Fred Jones who can dunk with best of them and plays good defense. This was a bad move.

October 11, 2007  03:08 PM ET

The Giants don't suck u meathead

October 11, 2007  03:09 PM ET

I believe i can do a better job as GM for the Knicks and i'm like 25 years younger than Thomas

October 11, 2007  03:20 PM ET

Liontut

Share some of what you're smoking with the rest of us. Dude, the Knicks might not win 35.

October 11, 2007  03:37 PM ET

He must think Charlie Ward, Kurt Thomas, and Shandon Anderson are still on the team to participate in his WWJD circle after every game

I am sure you think so. I'm sure a would think so to, but I watched 75 games last year. I average about 75 games a year, and I know basketball.
