08:17 AM ET 10.19 | Buck Showalter seemed to right the ship in Baltimore, and he'll have the opportunity this offseason to further make his impact on the organization. [Showalter] has now called every member of his coaching staff to inform them of where they stand and to encourage them to pursue other opportunities if they become available. Again, that doesn't mean that none of the coaches will return. Final decisions on that matter have not been made, and everybody is still under consideration for the Orioles' 2011 staff.

Nothing like a little doom and gloom to improve a clubhouse.

What we need is a real hitter at 1st. AG comes to mind, but Andy is too much of a wuss to make that happen.

If you are in a small market it is nearly impossible to win. MLB needs revenue sharing and a salary cap to be legitimate. The union would never go for it though. Unions helped destroy the car industry, the steel industry and teacher unions are putting people on the streets because of the high schools taxes.

Goes to show, you can take a few true facts, put them together, and get a completely of the wall conclusion. It helps if you throw in a few untrue facts as well.
It is not impossible for small market teams to be competitive.
MLB is legitimate without a Cap, which is only for owners anyway and they have revenue sharing.
Unions did help destroy some industries, but mgt let them. But that does not inherently make everything unions do evil.
Carry on.
