08:21 AM ET 10.19 | How much sway will Cody Ross have over a former teammate? Ross has been filling Dan Uggla's head with stories about how dandy it is to play for the Giants, who have explored trades for the Marlins' power-hitting infielder. In fact, Ross has tried to persuade Uggla not to sign a long-term deal with Florida before his final year of arbitration so he can sign with the Giants after the 2011 season.

that's like the guy I met in 2001 that said he was a life long Dbacks fan....he appeared to be in his 40s but I guess he was just a large 10 year old.

That's precious

Apparently Ross likes to wiggle his bat behind Uggla. They can find themselves a nice townhouse in the Polk/Castro district and live happily ever after.

If he isn't worse than average, I'm all for it! They really need another bat to add with Posey for a few years.

He has the bad glove rep from the AS game a few years back. He's not THAT bad, however, I would take Conrad over him as a fielding secondbaseman (the Conrad from April-August)

His best error was the double error on a McCann ground ball in late Sept. It went through the first baseman's legs, and since Uggla was in short RF (in shift position) the ball came right to him and it went through his legs too, even though it was moving pretty slowly by the time it got to him. It was right up there with some of Conrad's playoff gaffes.

That might be one of the funniest things I have ever read on here. Thank you for putting it that way. That was great. On a side note, Uggla would be a great addition to this team. They need one or two peices on offence to become a true dynasty. They're pitching is too good not to have offense behind it.

Look, to each his own, I just prefer to keep my orifices protected from the hordes of sphincter stretchers walking around downtown Frisco. <awaits SFEs second comment with great anticipation>

People who make homophoebic comments like Piltdown remind me of the rightwing conservatives we see today who are actually a little light in their own drawers. It's that self-hating thing that homophoebics like Piltdown Rabbit seem to have a problem understanding. BTW, there is no "Castro/Polk" neighborhood. They're located 3 miles apart. Geesh!

Is that your medical opinion or your defensive knee-jerk reaction?

Anyone who discounts the value of a good defense doesn't know jack about fielding a winning baseball team.
