Kobe to Bulls, Mavs or Suns?

There are well-founded rumblings that Kobe Bryant has his sights on Chicago or Dallas. So, would a package revolving around Luol Deng, Ben Gordon, Kirk Hinrich, Tyrus Thomas and/or Andres Nocioni work? Could the Mavericks put together a workable deal around Josh Howard? How about Phoenix (Amare Stoudemire or Shawn Marion)?

I think it would be bad for Phoenix to trade away either Amare or Marion (unless, of course, the Matrix no longer wants to be in PHX).

For Dallas, the trade could work. The same goes for Chicago. I mean, there would be some talent in those places still if Kobe was traded.

However, I think he'll be a Laker for the remainder of this season.

He won't go to Chicago. The Bulls would be crazy to trade all those players just for this selfish baby.
With the team they have now, the Bulls could go very far in the playoffs in the next few years. Sweeping the Heat last year was a very good sign.

The Suns need to unload their salaries to make some space, not put a huge one more on the roster.

Let him go to the Mavs

I think a trade of Deng, Gordon and Noah from Chicago to LA for Bryant and player(s) needed to complete the trade might be worth a look. If Kolbe is unhappy or plans to leave at first chance, the Lakers should consider a trade.

Does anyone know if this trade could work financially? I know Deng and Gordon are currently in the front end of contract negotiations.

These players from Chicago along with Bynum, Crittenton, Farmar, Walton and Turiaf would form a very solid young core that could contend in the future.

Even currently, with the veterans, Odom, Mihm, Evans, etc. this team would most likely be the same level (5-8 seed) as they would be with Kobe.

I think the trade would make sense for the current team and for the future.

The Bulls lost their chance when Boston landed Garnett and Allen. Now, once the trade is completed (even if I don't know why Kobe would accept, given the fact that Chicago might trade everybody except Wallace to get him), they wouldn't be favorites to win the Eastern, let alone the whole league...

Dallas doesn't have the players, or the picks, to attract the Lakers...

Phoenix's got both (Stoudemire/Barbosa/Atlanta's 2008 draft pick), but they play in the same Division as LA...

Long story short. It's a mess...

October 13, 2007  10:10 AM ET

If the bulls made that trade they would be the chicago lakers. I don't see a trade working with Dallas or PHX

Only equal or fair value trade is Kobe to Suns for Stoudemire and Barbosa....

G Fisher 10ppg and 5apg

F Odom 16ppg, 10 rpg, 5apg
C Bynum 11ppg, 7rpg

Bench-G Barbosa (15ppg), G Farmar, F Walton, F Radmanovic, F Cook, F Turiaf, C Mihm

Only way Buss trades to a western conference team.......

October 13, 2007  10:32 AM ET

I'd like to see him in a Mavs uniform and if there was any owner that could get it done I think it'd be Cuban.

October 13, 2007  10:54 AM ET

PHX I'm pretty sure wouldn't trade Stoudemire F-C for Kobe a guard. Subtracting Stoudemire and adding Bryant doesn't help them get past the Spurs. I'm sure PHX though would love to trade Marion though now that would be a steal and what a team in PHX.

October 13, 2007  11:06 AM ET

Where do these morons in the media come up with this stuff? Pretty much all they've done with the myriad of articles this week about a possible trade of Kobe are the same things written over the summer.

Goodness can these idiots find something else to write about besides this?

October 13, 2007  11:10 AM ET

ANYWHERE but the Bulls! PLEASE don't bring this cancer to Chicago!

October 13, 2007  11:31 AM ET

Kobe should show some character and try to improve his team rather than hop onto a playoff contender and ruin it.

October 13, 2007  11:36 AM ET

I want to know who keeps coming up with these rumors, AGAIN, that the Bulls would even think about or, in that matter, be willing to part with Luol Deng, Ben Gordon, Kirk Hinrich, Tyrus Thomas and/or Andres Nocioni for Bryant who is the ultimate NON team player. Any trade of this magnitude, from the Bulls perspective, would be utterly rediculous, foolish and surely cost Paxson his job and ultimately cause the demise of the contender he has so patiently built. I have the perfect solution for the Bulls Organization if they're idiotic enough to trade away all their assets for Kobe "Black Hole" Bryant, who'll be unhappy with the teammates he has left and demand a trade w/in 2 yrs... Trade Bryant to the Lakers for Luol Deng, Ben Gordon, Kirk Hinrich, Tyrus Thomas and/or Andres Nocioni... Now the question is would the Lakers be willing to pull the trigger on that deal? I highly doubt it.

October 13, 2007  11:43 AM ET

No Charlotte? Carroll, Wallace, May (even though he is out for the season), Brezec, and a 1st round pick.

October 13, 2007  11:55 AM ET

If he doesn't take all of the shots and passes the ball, I'd love to see him in a Bulls jersey.

October 13, 2007  12:00 PM ET

I would rather see the Lakers trade Dr Buss, Jimmy Buss and Mitch Kupchack for Mark Cuban and a future trade pick. Say anything you want about Mark, but it must include that Mark at least wants to win a championship.

October 13, 2007  12:05 PM ET

KOBE ! PLEASE GROW UP!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE ONLY THING KOBE NEEDS TO DO IS LEARN HOW TO READ THE FLOOR PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TAKE SOME NOTES FROM STEVE NASH!!!!

October 13, 2007  12:18 PM ET

I say Kobe just wait it out till 2009 (you'll be 31) and then sign with whomever you like for peanuts. That way you can go to a contender without them breaking their bank or giving up the very players that made them a contender. Hopefully by then you won't feel the need to be The Man all the time and can take a backseat to someone else. Maybe ... Cleveland and Lebron?

October 13, 2007  12:22 PM ET

Kobe only wants to leave now because of the lakers stoopid owner, so don't blame him.

The only way he would get traded to phoenix is for Marion, Banks, Strawberry or Tucker, and the 2008 atlanta first round pick. You could also take Banks and Strawberry or Tucker for Barbosa depending on what they wanted.
This would give the suns Nash, Bryant, Hill, Diaw, and Stoudemire. Bench: Bell, Skinner, Barbosa or Tucker/Strawberry and Banks, and Marks.

The other trade would be to Dallas for probably Howard, Terry, another player, and two future first round picks.
This would give the mavs Harris, Bryant, Stackhouse, Nowitzki, and Dampier. Bench: Diop, and other scrubs.

Chicago would just be dumb to trade for him, especially since they are already loaded with guards. They had to get Garnett, but were too dumb, so they should just stick with their roster.

October 13, 2007  12:23 PM ET

Even with all I've said, I still think he won't get traded.
