Dallas coach Avery Johnson suggested the Mavs have given up on the idea of signing ex-Bulls forward P.J. Brown, who has yet to announce whether or not he'll play this season.

PJ Brown was an average role player on his best day. The idea teams are chasing after him in the twilight of his career no less as if he were the missing link is pretty comical. I'm sure he finds it amusing also.

I just want to say PJ join a team or stay out of the news you big stiff. I hope your reading this you attention hungry pig.

Retire. I agree with you notbychoice, he just wants attention in any way possible. He'll probably postpone his retirement descision till the playoffs, so some pathetic team can sign him and keep him as a benchwarmer.

Big mistake I think PJ can add that little dimension they need: toughness!!!! PJ wont let hang their heads low no matter the situation!!! I think they made a mistake with this!!

I hope PJ join the Suns to replace what they lost in Thomas. Great fit, easy team to fit in for 15-18 mins backing up Amare.
Great leadership in the locker room along with Nash and Hill

PJ Who? I'm tired of Dallas signing these veteran players who only sit on the bench. Sure they might be good for the younger players but that's what coaches are for and Dallas already has too many of those as well.

I'm a suns fan, but really doubt that P.J will be able to help any contender if he decides to play, since when he does it will probably will be already half-way during the season and teams like dallas and phoenix will be set with their rotation and only teams that are struggling will go after him, but I still think phoenix should go and get him, since they'll have one more big body and prevent any other team to get him, but seriously doubt he'll play unless amare is in foul trouble and Skinner or Marks don't play good during the first half of the season.

If Dallas needs anything, it's a real point guard, not old P.J. If Nowitzki still had Nash (and maybe Nelson, too) he would be MVP until he was 35. No one on the current team can set him up where he needs it (Josh probably could, but he has tunnel-vision aimed at the hoop), and he often has to force his shots with the clock at 22 or 23. Dan Dickau might have been the guy, but I see where he went somewhere else. Terry is a scorer, not a passer. Haris is a slasher and defensive ****, but not a point. Maybe Berea, but I dont' know much about him except that he seems to be explosive wherever he plays other than Dallas -- summer and D League -- but he's a little shrimpy, so????. They could use a real center, too, beyond the limited, uninspired Dampier and offenseless Diop. With Dirk, Josh, Jason and Stack, there's enough firepower, but a post game would put them over the top. Duncan wold do ... ha, ha. So Dallas just hasto get back Nash and Jamison, and they're all set. Get Nelly back, too, and it's a slam dunk. I would help, too, if we could talk Mark into hobbling aorund on Dancing with the Stars embarasssing viewers with his moues and senseless palaver, and turn the team over to Nelson, Jr. and Nelson, Sr.
Let's see how Mavs handle Warriors this season, and you'll get the point. Despite the dispartity in talent, I bet Nelly's run-'n' -gunners win the season series again. Avery is a great, great guy, and maybe some day a great coach, but he's still miles beyond his mentors: Nelson and Poppovich. Who isn't

Why is anyone waiting on him at all? He's not that special.
