Should Phillies bench Howard?

Maybe I am biased here, but I think they should bench Howard, Utley, Rollins, Victorino, Halladay, Hamels, Oswalt, Polanco, Werth.....

Say what? Howard is hitting .294 in the NLCS. Why would they bench him?

In just saw the un-edited version of this Story:

So what he's saying (aside from comparing Howard to Ibanez) is that the Phils should bench a guy who can (and has frequently) changed the game with one swing of the Bat.

Dumb... Who would they have coming off the bench? Regardless you never bench your most dangerous bat in a do or die situation.

They should bench him and try Sweeny. Howard has no RBI's, Defense, so so. Why not try something else?

Should they sit him, absolutely. Will they sit him, no way. First off Charlie Manuel has no balls, and secondly the Phillies "investment" of $125,000,000 has to be on the field in management's eyes. Howard clearly has not shown the same "hunger" since he signed the fat contract. If he spent as much time correcting whatever ails him, as he does spitting in his batting glove between each pitch (disgusting) maybe he could get back on track.

Unless a star player is batting under .200, there's no reason to bench him.

Historically, Howard has been horrible against left handed pitching which is what I think the author is referring to. However, his 2010 lefty-righty was actually very even. But I'm sure you knew that, though...

Howard and Vlad Guerrero are the easiest guys in baseball to strike out, if they burn you...you haven't done your homework.

I think they should have definatley benched at least Ibanez cause he didn't do anything all postseason, they could have given domonique brown a chance. The Phillies should move him to an AL team and Howard can finish his career as a DH
