Joe Namath rips Cowboys

09:21 AM ET 10.24 | Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Namath does not see much to like with the Dallas Cowboys. Speaking on his weekly Sirius NFL Radio show, Namath ripped the Cowboys for their lack of focus, uneven effort, poor football intelligence and diva-like attitudes. "Their focus has been horrendous," Namath said. "You look at the number of penalties and breakdowns they've had, their head's not in the game, it really isn't. The smarter teams come out on top, the teams that don't destroy themselves. "And the Cowboys have not learned how to focus on the team in the locker room, and outside issues not interfering with their play. And that's what's happened. I really believe they all feel like they're big stars and they're not working as hard as they think they are." Namath said the players must take the blame for the 1-4 start, but he did not exempt owner-general manager Jerry Jones from criticism.

I sure old Joe lets a lot of things rip these days.

Of course when Joe made those comments he was ripped out of his gourd, and just finished texting Jenn Sterger

Later during a telephone interview with Jerry Jones, Namath told him, "I could care less about this team. I wanna kiss you."

Does anybody take Namath seriously anymore?

It is a twelve step program, and Joe is still on step one.

Look at that picture. He looks like he needed to be propped up for it. How could anyone take that seriously?

Yes Joe Namath - you're an experts in undisciplined prima donnas that never live up to potential except for one or two moments.

October 24, 2010  09:45 AM ET

He looks like he's having a senior moment, he has not aged well.

Could have been. I find no argument with his conclusions. The Giants are going to beat them like a drum on Monday night.

Are you sure he made it that far?

Great Joe. You're about the last one to figure out the Cowboys. Did you finally get around to reading the articles since week 1? Feeling like you are the last one to the party Joe?

Stu, with all due respect, it's getting old.
Namath is correct.

And he didn't rip them. He gave an opinion.

All Namath did was state what everyone has said about the team since the preseason. So why is this even a story?

October 24, 2010  10:32 AM ET

Not that Joe's opinion matters, but he is not wrong. Maybe the more people that say it, the madder it will make the team and they will start to play football. 11 straight wins and everyone would shut up.
