09:00 AM ET 10.14 | Sure the Oregon Ducks felt great about their overwhelming 53-7 win over Washington State. But beneath the euphoria, there also was this: They begin their final five games and their pursuit of a BCS bowl berth missing three of their biggest offensive weapons. A month after losing key receiver Brian Paysinger for the season to knee surgery, Oregon took a double hit at Autzen Stadium, losing junior running back Jeremiah Johnson to a knee injury and senior receiver Cameron Colvin to a broken ankle. "Odds are that they both will be done for the season," coach Mike Bellotti said.

Odds now better for USC, although it'll be like two maimed fighters duking it out in Autzen. A lot of the swagger there ain't.

I don't like going into the USC and Oregon St games like this. Andre Crenshaw's shown flashes of being the next Jerimiah Johnson, but he's not there yet. And even though we lost two great WRs, we still have two who can fill those shoes. I guess I'll just be looking for Dixon to run a bit more..

In a system that allows for a lot of offensive options, the Oregon coaches can replace their WRs and tailback with younger players and still be effective. Remember, Oregon recruits are talented. They generally are considered some of the best in the respective positions. Sure, they may only be 2-4 star recruits, but sometimes, those recruits have greater potential and DESIRE than the 5 star blue chippers coming out of school. Oregon will be fine in their current system.
