Dolphins receiver Chris Chambers was briefly yanked from the starting lineup in favor of Derek Hagan during April's minicamp and used as a third wide receiver because he was dropping too many passes. Chambers said he understood the demotion and gained even greater respect for new coach Cam Cameron for taking him to task for a poor practice.

c'mon-we're talking about minicamp in April! These guys haven't even worked up a good sweat yet.

May 8, 2007  11:36 AM ET

Until Cam Cameron finds a QB it doesn't matter whose trying to catch the ball!

May 8, 2007  11:54 AM ET

I know it's only April but isn't it kind of cool for a player to say he respects a coach for making a move based on that player's performance? You don't hear that every day.

May 8, 2007  12:09 PM ET

Looks like Chambers is already in midseason form...

May 8, 2007  12:47 PM ET

C'mon, we talkin about practice here man, practice. Not a game, practice...practice

May 8, 2007  01:20 PM ET

u play like u practice and this move helps gain the coach respect from the players.....teams that believe in their coach play better then teams that dont

anybody think marcus vick will get a shot, now that miami let him go?

can you imagine ATL picking him up - putting him at wideout... or have him backing up his brother. I don't think it would ever amount to much, but i'm sure they would have some sort of chemistry. ha.. man, it would be a circus in the media.

May 8, 2007  05:16 PM ET

Can't help but laugh when thinking of the Vicks. Michael was supposed to be the big brother mentor to Marcus. Since that time, Mike's been arrested at the airport and things aren't looking real good on the dog-fighting incident. Mi

The only issue I would have with this, if I were a Dolphins fan, is the word "briefly".

May 8, 2007  08:04 PM ET

FG21....Colors mean everything? Goes to show that JETS FANS have nothing to talk about come football season. K. Rhodes, and the rest them Db's havent laid a player out since um.....maybe Vinny Testerverde in practice! Miami OWNS the JETS head to head. When the Jets can stop the run, go deep into the playoffs, let me know. Miami may be 1 of the weakest teams in the NFL right now....but remember when the Pat's were the laughing stock of the NFL, and they had NO FANS! I sure remember them days, so hate on Miami now, cuz sooner then later we'll be back!

May 8, 2007  08:10 PM ET

he needs to tightin up.... I am still pissed about the draft!!!

May 8, 2007  08:33 PM ET

This is not much of a story. It's minicamp. Chambers is saying the right things, though. If he was openly warring with Cam it might be a bad move. ItsMoney might want to watch his mouth. The Pats became a good team because of good ownership, good coaches who understood the team concept. Miami has neither.

May 8, 2007  08:48 PM ET

"Miami OWNS the JETS head to head" really Itsmoney32, since 2001 the Jets are 8 - 4 against the dolphins, i hardly call that Dolphins owning the jets, more like the Jets owning the dolphins.

May 8, 2007  08:54 PM ET

At this point in his career Chambers could fade out of relevance. After flashing so much talent, he's been pretty disappointing these last two years.

May 8, 2007  09:14 PM ET

and if you wanna go even further the jets were 2 and 0 in 2000 against the dolphins, which ALSO, includes the Monday Night Miracle, when the dolphins collapsed and little cry baby Jason Taylor had to shut his mouth

so there 10 and 4 against the dolphins since 2000

May 9, 2007  04:16 AM ET

If this wasn't mini-camp, Cameron wouldn't have pulled Chambers. He's just trying to get his attention and know he won't it to hard since it is just mini camp

May 9, 2007  07:18 AM ET

I think it's a good move. Chambers hasn't lived up to his potential, and he has to know that he must work harder.

May 9, 2007  09:44 PM ET

GREAT!!!! i watched chambers and he does drop alot of balls even in games!!!!!!!

May 9, 2007  09:45 PM ET

what ever happend to marcus vick????

May 10, 2007  11:15 AM ET

Good!!...Chambers needs a serious wakeup call ! and as for Vick, he got cut , maybe he'll run his brothers Dog Fighting bussiness...
