Vikes consider sitting Favre for second-half run?

07:57 AM ET 10.26 | Brett Favre will be stealing headlines all season, though some believe it should be for taking a seat, at least for the present. Favre ranks 30th in passer rating, behind a Lions backup and two Raiders, and just ahead of Derek Anderson and two Panthers. ... Keeping him out of the lineup will enable him to heal and prepare for the second half of the season, when the Vikings could still emerge as the most dangerous and talented team in the NFC. Keeping him out of the lineup could enable [Brad] Childress, who appears to dislike Favre every bit as much as Favre dislikes him, to regain some measure of control over the offense.

Right.... They sound like it's a baseball season.

Jackson's passing stats were similar to Favre's when he was last the full time starter, but at least he could run too. I think Brett is toast, regardless of the injuries. Time to make a change.

Tavaris starting = season over.

A run to what? The shi**er?

Is that Brett's texting pose?

No...that would be one hand on the phone and the other between his knees.

Brett so far this season: QB Rate:68.0, 7 TDs / 10 Ints, 14 sacks, 199 yards/game, comp rate 58.1%.

Jackson in 08 (last full time season): QB Rate: 70.8, 9 TDs / 12 Ints, 12 sacks, 159 yards/game, comp rate 66.7%.

I think at this point he'd be an improvement. He can at least scramble and avoid the sacks and get some yardage on the ground.

Farve is going to leave this season (his last) looking like Beetle Bailey after Sarge whuuped that a.s.s !!!

That's very compelling. I can really see him saving the season and those stats point to a great free agency for Tavaris. He'll be in high demand with those numbers!

Hey isn't that worse than 49ers QB Alex Smith? Fans have been on him too much, lighten up.
But sit a 16 to 18 million dollar QB? Not Brett, Not if he is healthy enough to play.

Not saying he's great, just that his stats are no worse than Bretts, and may actually not lose games for them by tossing INTs or getting sacked all the time.

Halloween in New England. A groaning Favre gathers no Moss.

Looks like Sunday in Foxboro will be feeding raw meat to the Pats Defense, regardless of who they start.

So that he can be pounded from a pulp to a watery paste that looks like so much skim milk with gray whiskers floating on top?

It's over, Brett.
