Pressure getting to Hawkins?

08:26 AM ET 10.26 | While one column on Tuesday opined that Colorado should name a new head coach by the end of November, a Monday press conference seemed to spell more frustration for Dan Hawkins. His answers on [weekly conference calls] are getting shorter and shorter to the point where some are merely monosyllabic. Take this Monday's. He was asked about Baylor tailback Jay Finley and if also having dual threat QB Robert Griffin III makes it difficult for defenses. "Yeah," Hawkins said. The reporter said, "Can you expand on that a little bit?" "You had the right quote. Use your quote."

I thought the hawk would be out last season.

Colorado does not have the money for a buyout.

CU has plenty of money, they just don't have a better replacement coach.

If you were asked to elaborate on the many ways the Buffs suck, wouldn't you just want to go back to your office and eat a bullet?

About as good of job as Jeff Bowden.

You're joking, right? The Big XII had to set up a payment plan for them for their exit fee. I don't know if they needed a down payment, but the payments are doable, although they may have to cut back on some groceries, cable and Saturday nights out to stay within budget. Oh, and the AD is working part-time and the local WalMart as a greeter to help out....

CU was 5th in the Big12 with $15M in net revenues for its football program in 2009 behind Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Texas A&M.

Well I personally think you need to give Addazio a decade or so to see if he can figure out how to run an offense!

BSB, I thought you would be quicker of the hire SA statement!

October 26, 2010  06:25 PM ET

You wonder if he's regretting leaving Boise to play in a conference where he doesn't completely outmatch everybody based solely on talent level...

unfortunately the rest of the school is broke due to new laws the state congress passed. so none of that money goes to the program. not to mention a $10 million buyout would take up 2/3 of their revenues even if they did get the whole pie.

Hire him? We will give him to CU and pay his first years salary and all moving expenses.

Sheet CU has big time boosters that could pay his buy out. He should have been gone last year. I'am sure thats how NU got rid of what was his name ah ah ah ah Callahan thats it that guy.

25 posts and no video of Queen/David Bowie "Under pressure"? This thread lacks creativity.

You need to throw in more than that - maybe an assistant to be named later, a home and home (in Boulder) against the Gators, trade or transfer players to Colorado, something other than one year salary and a relocation package!!
