09:36 AM ET 10.26 | Could Manny be Manny in Toronto? In search of a new employer now that his two-year, $45-million US contract has expired, slugger Manny Ramirez says he's interested in being a Blue Jay, now that John Farrell is the manager. ... Farrell and Ramirez were both with the Red Sox in 2007 and 2008. Even though both were in the Cleveland Indians organization earlier in their careers, their paths never crossed there. "Toronto has made a great acquisition. Farrell is a manager for whom I would like to play, and Toronto is a team I've liked since they had all those Dominican players in the 80's," Ramirez said in a Spanish ESPN interview. "I still have a lot of baseball left in me. I think that I can still bat if I keep myself healthy, and it is less probable to have an injury playing as the designated hitter," Ramirez said.

I'm thinking bullpen catcher for the Nationals

October 26, 2010  10:08 AM ET

If he's willing to DH, then yeah I'd give him a shot.

October 26, 2010  10:11 AM ET

If they were on the same team he knows what Manny brings, no chance for him in Toronto.

Even though he appears his best days are behind him, I would prefer not to see him in the AL East.

That's even a stretch!

He may still be an OK DH (potentially) somewhere, but is it worth the drama?...kind of doubt it.

His drama is old and no team is going to take that on. UNLESS and that's a big if he can be signed to a very low dollar contract.

What he doesn't need is more idle time during a game. Maybe he can be the mascot and do an in between inning gig.

After witnessing all the crap that Manny put his buddy Francona through, theres no way Farrells that stupid............

this clowns done, a non factor wherever he ends up.

Thanks, but no thanks. Can he still hit? Probably. But he's not worth the drama. He thinks he's funny, but pathetic is more like it.

"I have a lot of baseball left in me"

Well if you do you sure have a funny way of showing it.

Here's the thing: Manny LOVES to hit at SkyDome. He's made it his personal playground over the years. I was at the game where he hit one above the hotel windows in left field, this was longer than Canseco's fabled blast in the 1989 playoffs. If the Dome was an open stadium to the outfield that ball would have ended up two blocks away from the park.
That said ... he may love hitting here but he's pretty well finished. I wouldn't even consider it unless it's a literal one-year deal for about $5 million with incentives. And even then he's taking away at-bats from some pretty good young hitters who are the future of Toronto, so it's still not really worth the risk.

Hey, the Tokyo Giants play in a dome, too....ship his **** over to Nippon!

Why? Off the roids hes a mediocre hitter and a headache no one needs.

Not unless he pays them.

Having gotten very familiar with what AA wants to do with this team, this just doesn't fit at all.

He'd be a great addition to the Jays as a DH
