The worst player in the NFL?

07:49 AM ET 10.28 | On what is statistically shaping up to be among the most porous defenses in NFL history, the Bills still can't find a spot for Aaron Maybin. It's quite possible that Maybin is the worst player in the NFL (though a case could be made for John McCargo, another former Bills' first-rounder who has been inactive all six games). There's a good chance Maybin will be inactive again this week against Kansas City, the NFL's top rushing team. After a year and a half, he hasn't gotten better. If anything, he's regressed. Maybin has 21 tackles in 21 games. He has no sacks. This season, he's been on the field for 66 plays, with few tangible results.

Sounds like the young man has been a bit of a disappointment.

I'm surprised Jerry didn't draft him.

Someone needs to get his agent on the phone....

Every city's newspaper will come up with the "local player" as the worst.

He should give his money back. Talk about horrible.

Oakland or the Cowboys will pick him up.

"Maybin" a change of scenery could help him.

Cowboys need MORE underachievers.

True...

"<fill in the blank> is worse than this guy!!!

October 28, 2010  08:11 AM ET

is he regressing because he's getting worse at football or because the Bills took a college DE and are trying to make him into a 3-4 OLB?

October 28, 2010  08:13 AM ET

First round money to underachieve...Priceless

October 28, 2010  08:16 AM ET

Rather than blaming Maybin, I think Buffalo's inability of using him for what he was drafted for is the main problem--- Buffalo has many, many issues--- least of which is this guy!!

But Mel Kiper said he was good...

Held out and got a $15M signing bonus. Tough to side with the players on compensation issues with anecdotes like this one. But asserting that he's the worst player in the NFL is just plain mean.

Maybe his fortunes will change if he starts to drink Dos Equis. LOL!

Guess they figure if San Diego and Dallas can do it, it couldn't be that hard...

I believe he said the same about Ryan Leaf, too...LOL

The Bills could really use the services of a Perry Fewell type coordinater...Opps...

I wonder if his Mom is going to put THIS in her boy's scrapbook?
