NASCAR eyeing new car design for 2013

12:04 PM ET 10.28 | Following Nationwide's lead, NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series could be introducing new models come 2013. "We had really positive feedback when we released the new Nationwide cars this year. The fact is that, undeniably, the Dodge Challenger and the Ford Mustang are really good-looking race cars," John Darby, Sprint Cup Series director, said. "We're not talking about a new race car. We're talking about body modifications and making model changes that will help the identity and the look of the cars. It's all from an appearance format, not to change the race car itself." This will come as a relief to drivers like Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kyle Busch who weren't fans of the sport's Car of Tomorrow.

Well, if Jooonya and Kyle don't like them, that should be enough. That seals the deal, they will have to make some changes now. when the most popular driver, Joooonya, and the driver who will succeed Joooonya as the most popular driver agree on something, it's a given. Who doesn't love love?

I will admit that I (marginally) like the looks of the new NW car more than the COT in cup.
that said, the linkage between branding and Sales on Monday is pretty much lost. How many of us see our Crossovers, SUVs and Vans on the track these days?

Wow, talk about wind, our power went out for almost 3 hrs, 35 40 mph, as for the change in 13, whats in looks it's how the car runs and behaves on the track that counts, looks is for womens not stock car drivers. LOL

Chevy needs to get the Camaro on the Nationwide series. At least in real life the Challenger, Mustang & Camaro are V8 Powered rear wheel drive muscle cars with manual transmissions.

In all the chat about the car remodeling.. no one commented on the statement that it will make Junior and kyle happy as they are not fans of the current car? how did we miss that.
Mr. Nice.. yeah, we hit like 53 yesterday afternoon. A student assistant videotaping Notre Dame practice was killed when the scissors lift (some 40 ft up they said) was toppled. Big investigation as to "what happened".. doesn;t take a phd, the equipment had warning not to erect in winds above 28.
