07:53 AM ET 10.29 | While Brett Favre seems to have his sights set on starting on Sunday at New England, the decision may be taken out of his hands. Favre was held out of practice again Thursday, meaning if he doesn't practice Friday he will go into the game cold. According to an NFL source, Childress is leaning toward having Tarvaris Jackson open Sunday at quarterback -- a move that would end Favre's NFL-record streak of 291 consecutive starts. Favre, who has played through numerous injuries during his 20-year NFL career, has "confided" in some close to him he's not convinced Childress will let him play against New England, the NFL Network also reported Thursday night.

And leaning himself right out of a job

You go right ahead. That should be fun to watch in Foxboro whoever is under center.

This Childress... what is his job with Minnesota again?

October 29, 2010  08:08 AM ET

If this were any other player it wouldn't even be news. They would take a couple weeks and heal. There is a lot of football left and if the Vikings are going to go anywhere this year they will need Farve for the long haul. Say what you want .. I know it's all about the streak and not the team. This guys ego is off the charts.

Whoever is under center is going to end up under linebacker. And under defensive end. Under Wilfork is going to hurt.

Didn't Gilligan crash that boat?

How fitting...

And if he wants to keep his job, maybe he should stop wearing stupid hats.

October 29, 2010  08:20 AM ET

Childress yeah! no one understands! Sink or stink for all I care.
Sit your 16, 18K Quarterback, but I believe Brett will start, you can pull him

That is such a gay pic. He really looks like he is strolling and trolling with a pocketful of candy.

If Childress was smart he would just throw him out there and let the Pats finish him off for good.

October 29, 2010  08:29 AM ET

I never thought I say this, but I feel sorry for Randy Moss.

At least he has the option of leaving at the end of the season.

Childress might get to leave too, but I wouldn't consider it to be an "option" for him.

The glare off his head disturbs the players. Mornin', Count.
