Georgia has the talent to topple Florida

08:34 AM ET 10.29 | Urban Meyer has a way of winning with more than a week to prepare a team for its opponent, but he may not have the better players on the field Saturday. Georgia has better players at quarterback (Aaron Murray), wide receiver (A.J. Green), running back (Washaun Ealey) and the offensive line is way better. Great quarterbacks are defined by this game and Murray, the redshirt freshman from Tampa, puts his stamp on his first Georgia-Florida game by leading the Bulldogs to a victory.

Doesn't most teams have "the talent to topple Florida"?

State did.....

Sure they do. But Florida has a crucial mental edge in this series. Winning 17 of 20 will create that.

This is easily Georgia's best shot at winning in the last 3 years. Even though it's against a weaker Florida, and the 'Dawgs are only .500 themselves, this game is immense for them.

'Dawgs win, and only a naysaying minority will remember it was against the worst Gator team in 5 years. Lose, and it's same-old, same-old, crying in my beer time.

Can't wait!

Click the AJC link and read Barnhardt's picks. It's a little clearer than the edited version posted by the FN interns.

The AJC homers are probably universally picking the Georgia win, armed with their typical rationalizations and blind-squirrel-gets-the-acorn-eventually optimism. It's been a real up and down year for those guys, God bless 'em.

I think Florida wins, 17 of 20 is a helluva body of work and a huge mental edge in a game of generally matched teams. Georgia fears the Gators; no one in an orange helmet has any fear of Georgia.

Steve Hummer of the AJC picks the Dawgs for another head-case epic fail. UGA fans' jokes and snide comments about his last name are expected.

You could have said Florida State. LOL.

I fully expect Jawja to bring their best to this contest. It's a tossup in my book, but I will say that the week of layoff makes it more likely the Gators will be able to generate a better gameplan.

BS&B's posts about whoever jumps to the early lead getting the big mental boost is spot-on. I expect the swinging of momentum to be even more critical than usual in this one.

Thanks for the idea, Doc, but I avoid the AJC and the Orlando Sentinel like the plague.

There is no "crucial mental edge" for UF v MSU. UF v UGA however.....

But thanks for playing.

And if I go who's gear should I sport to get more action?

I dunno, I've always been in the orange-and-blue camp, and so I can't speak to the silver-and-black potential. I know they have plenty of eye candy over there, that much I can definitely say.

May I suggest going neutral, and giving each side an equal shot?
