10:34 AM ET 10.31 | The aggregate attendance of the first three playoff 2010 matches was 33,400, with Commerce City, Dallas, and San Jose pulling in just over 10,000 each. Seattle has already sold 34,000 tickets for the Sunday night match between Sounders FC and the Los Angeles Galaxy. But the Galaxy won't be intimidated when stepping onto the turf on Sunday night. "It's better than playing in front of nobody," LA captain Landon Donovan said after a training session in Carson, Calif. "I like the environment, even during the national anthem, the warm-ups. It's just a good vibe and when it's cold and rainy like it's probably going to be, it's fun this time of year and I thrive on it." Head coach Bruce Arena thought a similar attitude would apply to the rest of his players as well.

Really? 30,000+ scarf wearing hipsters don't intimidate you?

Why do journos even bother asking these dumb **** questions?

Journo: Uh, LD, despite having played in one of the fiercest derbies in the world, and having bags of piss and **** hurled at you in Central America, do you anticipate being scared by the cast of [i]Singles[i/] yelling at you in between sips of Seattle's Best?

LD: What? No one told me that Bridget Fonda would be there. **** it, I'm outta here, I didn't sign up for this ****.

Note the comment by LD - "It's better than playing in front of nobody," - Note to the rest of the league, you people actually should go to your games. Oh wait, you would rather watch it from you couch. Love seeing the half empty stands for a playoff game in Dallas....

I know, how pathetic was that.

If by "Thriving on it" Donovan means disappearing for long stretches of the game, complain to the referee about dam near everything and making sure the camera has plenty of shots of him fixing his socks... then yes, he thrives on that.

Seattle hipsters don't go to SFC matches. The only sporting events you'll find them at is a neighborhood kickball or dodgeball game, or track bike get-togethers.

He worked his arse of tonight. Both him and Goldenballs were everywhere. Seattle got outworked and outmuscled. That's how you negate speed.

I like what LA did tonight. Buddle, Donovan and Beckham played back on D a lot, but had Seattle scrambling when they would recover possession and push the counter forward.

One thing you have to say about Donovan and Beckham playing out wide is that they can really get the counter-attack going, and going fast. Beckham sent in many quality crosses and spread Seattle's defense out well.

Buddle's goal was very nice!

I gave a lot of shet to Dallas for their attendance, and I know that Colorado and San Jose didn't have good figures either- but to me, Dallas' match was the one that was the worst.

I forgot though that another home town team had a pretty big game- Rangers in the World Series.

Still... San Jose plays at Buck Shaw Stadium. AT LEAST they pack the place most home games which gives them a pretty cool atmosphere. I'm fine with MLS teams using smaller venues for temporary housing, AS LONG AS they pack those smaller spaces.

Pizza Hut Park at onlly 50% capacity is probably more than a full Buck Shaw Stadium, but at least there is a good atmosphere at BSS.
