07:52 AM ET 11.02 | Brad Childress may have heated up the seat beneath him. Childress hadn't first told owner Zygi Wilf that he was going to jettison a guy the Vikings had acquired less than a month ago for a third-round pick from New England. Wilf was extremely upset, according to NFL sources and other reports, and he had good reason to be mad. Not only had the Vikings traded away a piece of their future to get [Randy] Moss, but they also took on a contract with a $6.4 million base salary for 2010. Wilf has been willing to spend money whenever he's asked but the Vikings don't generate enough revenue to be acquiring big-name players and then releasing them.

Put a tent over that circus!

Next coach slated to be fired???

November 2, 2010  07:59 AM ET

I understand coaches having limited freedom to run the team as they see fit but this was flat-out stupid on Childress' part unless he plans on paying Moss' salary, which I doubt!

Wow, that's a surprise. I thought Brett Favre ran the team.

Is Childress on the ballot today? I'm writing in Donald Duck.

The owner wanted Moss there, someone's in twouble!

November 2, 2010  08:03 AM ET

Can't tell what's going on there... At first Chilly said he didn't see anything wrong with Randy's comments, then Randy was mysteriously released.... But the owner knew nothing about him being released allegedly... I wonder was it Brett that released him.

Gilligan!

November 2, 2010  08:05 AM ET

Chili also held his press conference BEFORE his team meeting so he could have an excuse for not bringing up dumping Moss. Chili is giving the owners reasons to fire him, do it! Promote Leslie Frazier today!!!

November 2, 2010  08:06 AM ET

I didn't think Chilly would be there next season. Now I'm not sure he'll even be there next Sunday.

This isn't going to be one of those days when "Skipper" Wilf calls Childress "Little Buddy."

The owner also wants a new stadium. He's not getting that, either.

He knows he has nothing left to lose at this point.

If true, then this is one really hosed up team!

I thought it was a fine trade (for the Pats) - ROTFLMAO!!!

The coach has no stones, and he gathers no Moss.
