08:19 AM ET 11.02 | Texas' season continues to slip away. After losing to Baylor 30-22, Texas is the leader in the clubhouse to become The Most Disappointing Team of 2010. Who's No. 1? Up for debate. ... The 'Horns woke up Sunday morning in fifth place in the Big 12 South. At 4-4, they need to win two of their last four to go to some low-level bowl. They have lost three consecutive times at home for the first time since 1988. How bad is it? Mack Brown has lost more home games in the past two months (three) than Bob Stoops has in his entire career at Oklahoma (two).

It's okay, F J J, I can share the misery.

Whew! For a second there, I thought this article was about Florida. But then I remembered that even though we lost 3 games in row....only two were home games.

That and we've one 2 of the 3 games that matter most...

LSU is slowly creeping up that list of "games that matter most". It's in 4th place, but it's real close to #3.

In "games that matter most" re: MNC, you'd almost have to put them as #1, but in terms of rivals, they're solidly 4th to me. Gonna take a long time to change that.

Close second for you my friend but I would have been seriously disappointed if it were anyone other than the Horns. I expected a so so offense but the D and ST's have been unusually bad. Not a good year and with games against KSU in Manhattan, Okie Lite, FAU and Aggy I can see them sprinting out to a stellar 5-7 season this year. Tuurrrble. Jus' Turrble.

I feel your pain. I'm sure your rivals don't give a ****, but I'm with ya man. I'm with ya.

Brown is a class guy, one of the best in the profession, but I won't shed any tears of Texas, USC, or Florida's seasons. Nice to see them all down for a change.

November 2, 2010  09:04 AM ET

That is a scary sight when you see their arms stiffen like that.

November 2, 2010  09:05 AM ET

FJJ, it may be a battle of the "UT's" as to which team is the most disappointing, even though most people expected this from UTK this year.

Will you shed some tears for Tech's, or are you enjoying schadenfreude too much?

November 2, 2010  09:21 AM ET

Well I'm disappointed ... but I'm sure OU fans were disappointed last year too ... and look what a difference a year makes. These are 18-20 year old kids and the development is not predictable nor is it linear. Something could click next week.

By the way this is not a Dallas Morning News article it's a blog from Dennis Dodd at CBSSports.com. The DMN would sell a lot more papers locally by focusing on the local team TCU rather than borrowing material from a blogger about a team 200 miles away.

The future is bright but man the coaching this year along with playcalling. I was watching the game when they drove inside the 10 down by 11 with only about 4 minutes to play. GD proceeds to run 2 straight times up the gut with Cody Johnson for no gain. On the first one I said WTF is he thinking? On the second one it was are you f000000ng kidding me. He ran a minute and a half off the clock and came away with a field goal when he was all of 3 yds from the endzone.I don't get it.

If a team can not pound it in on the 3 yard line, they do not deserve to win.

From the Domers perspective I would imagine they feel there's is most disappointing but it's just bad right now. Real bad. I guess if we go 8-5 (assuming a bowl game) most will point to OU last year vs. this year. I say go all in and put in your young guys. The upperclassmen aren't doing ****.

I bet the Irish can win 2 more games, if the Horns can do the same maybe we will meet up in the Hawaii bowl, it ain't so bad, Honolulu is a nice place to spend one's X-mas vacation.
Mele Kalikimaka to you..
Oh the Pain.....

I wouldn't put USC too far down on that list as, "the most disappointing team" of the year and I'm a big fan of USC!!!?

Not a good year in Austin or Gainseville...

... remember, though, Texas and Florida in "title" game next year:)

Mack Brown is a classy coach and this is a tough year for them. Very hard to replace legends overnight. Not to worry Horn fans, they are young and will be back soon. Same with Florida.

USC's downfall could be predicted...

... which is why Carroll abandoned ship.

That's what Bill Walsh said regarding Colorado when they played Notre Dame in the 1991 Orange Bowl.

"Nothing fancy or tricky here, go right in over the top. If you're #1 you'll get in right over the top."

... but, the writing was on the wall that USC would be down this year.

Maybe not as down as they're appearing, but, they were a fringe top 25 team coming into this year.

Texas and Florida were both, I believe, preseason top 5 teams.
