Toronto yawning over Bills games

10:37 AM ET 11.07 | If there once a buzz, an excitement about the Buffalo Bills and the National Football League playing games in Toronto, there isn't anymore. The silence leading up to Sunday's game between the inept Bills and unwatchable Chicago Bears has been almost overwhelming. The media coverage, what there has been, has been forced, not reacting to any real demand. And the thing is, this failed series and the horrible Bills in no way represents how passionate Toronto is about the National Football League.

Toronto isn't the only place yawning about the Bills.

Bears vs Bills - what a pig of a game. I guess I'm picking the Bears but not enthusiastic about it...

NFL is not doing good with trying to bring football to other countries... Bills and Bears in Canada and Broncos-49ers in England, sad really.

Sad and not fair to home team fans.

How do those England games factor into season ticket prices for the team that "loses" it's home game?

Seems like a good way for the rest of the world to embrace soccer even more. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLL LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe this was Buffalo's plan all a long. Make the Bills team so awful that no other city would want to take it away from them.

It could explain why they hired Chan Gailey.

Yup. It's one of the choices I have for the early game on Fox. Maybe I should have gotten that NFL On Demand so I can watch some interesting games other than my beloved Colts.

This was a dumb idea from the beginning.

Rogers, the worst company on planet earth, tries to charge absurd prices for the game which destroys any demand that might exist. I am not going to mortgage my house to see an awful Bills team play.

Look. This was always about money. The NFL cannot get enough money from Canada without giving most of it to Rogers, who owns and controls all the TV in Canada. Not going to happen.
The Bills, if they moved to Toronto , would be a mess. Why? Players will get out of there as soon as they can via Free Agency. Just like the Blue Jays in MLB.

There ya go. Just look up who controls the media in Canada and you have your answer.

Toronto is a horrible sports city outside of the Maple Laffs. The lack of giving a crap about the Bills is the same attitude the city would have towards its' own team after 3 years. That and charging as much for one game as Bills season ticket holders is absurd.

Bills pull off the W today in a close one!

It is purely a money gtab for the Roger's Corp., I would rather travel to Buffalo (1.5hrs) cheaper tickets, parking waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better tailgating. Buffalo is a blue collar town who loves their sports unlike the stuffy fans in Toronto. Go Bills, Sabres and Bandits and I live just outside of Toronto.

Apparently Toronto is happy enough with their CFL Argonauts. No need for the NFL's table scraps.

Im from Toronto and there is still a buzz about the games being played here BUT we have Rogers running the games and tickets are WAY to expensive cheapest tickets are 100bucks to sit in the top bowl of the stadium and not be able to see anything! If tickets were a decent price and your normal person can afford a ticket it would be packed.

How can you say that? Toronto FC is always sold out, The Raptors almost always have a full house, the Rock does well. Yes it is a hockey town but other sports do well.

Rogers just mishandled this situation by trying to charge 4k for tickets when it was first announced.

Last time I checked my Bell Expressvu, I did notice that Rogers control all TV in Canada.

Toronto sucks. They are chargingmore for one game than the Bills charge for some of their season tickets. The Bills aren't as bad as their record and when the dust settles at the end of the season they will have won as many games as Dallas.

It's not Toronto, it's Rogers Communications. They own the Skydome (I refuse to call it by it's new name) and the rights to the Bills games being played in Toronto. They promised Ralph Wilson millions and thought people would jump at the opportunity to watch them.
