Rutgers QB played through injury

Between the special teams trickery, Ray Rice's big day and improved disruption on the defensive line leading the way to a 30-27 victory Thursday over No. 2 South Florida, nobody noticed Mike Teel. Which, to coach Greg Schiano, was a good thing. Schiano said yesterday that Teel played through the majority of snaps with a lingering injury to the thumb on his throwing hand, to the point that he considered inserting backup quarterback Jabu Lovelace if the team was forced into a situation where it consistently needed to pass. Teel finished with 179 yards and two touchdowns on 11 of 29 passing.

Attention All Rutgers Fans: Congratulations! Rutgers beat USF fair & square. No cheap hits, no excuses, just a hard fought victory. Well done. Obviously, I was wrong in my prediction that USF would win...There, now I've said it.

However, Jerzy Man & RutgersPenos, you're still idiots.

Have a nice day.

Teel's far from perfect, but I still say he is one of the most underrated kids in college football. He's got a big , decent skill, and is the right guy to be starting QB at Rutgers at the moment as the ignorant NYC tri-state media begins to cover RU like the rest of the NYC sports teams. Nice job Mike Teel.

Tigator,

Central N.J. has some of the nicest towns in America, thus the world. Sea Girt, Spring Lake, Manasquan, Princeton, for example. I'm not as inclined to defend South Jersey or most of the North though.

I fear you speak with a total lack of knowledge and have never been beyond Newark Airport.

Go Rutgers.

Teel was hurt. The Bulls were missing two offensive line starters due to injury; which never was mentioned on the T.V. coverage. The real people that should be given the credit for the games result are the ones who scheduled the two teams to play on a short week. All for the T.V. revenue from ESPN. But I guess that is what is letting USF and Rutgers grow from mediocre to great football schools. It also allows the Big East to wield more clout and hopefully improve the bowl connections and chances of any of the Big East teams winning the National Championship.

Rutgers still smells as bad as that odor I get when I drive across the Goethals.

I could care less that they beat South Florida for I still say that clock has struck midnight, the carridge has turned into a pumpkin, and the horses has gone back to being mice...Cinderella.

New Jersey: The State that I drive through on my way to someplace better.

I don't care what you say about the Rutgers. The are the next big deal.
