08:16 AM ET 11.10 | Mark Buehrle believes the White Sox have a better shot at seeing A.J. Pierzynski return than Paul Konerko, but Chicago reportedly won't sit idle no matter those outcomes. In another development, Sox free agent Mark Kotsay said on Jim Bowden's XM Radio show that the Sox are trying to acquire a left-handed hitter, such as free agents Adam Dunn or Aubrey Huff, or trade for Prince Fielder in addition to re-signing Konerko. The Sox had discussions with Milwaukee involving Fielder, but those talks stopped prior to the July 31 trading deadline after the Brewers asked for Gordon Beckham.

No, he's neither washed-up or a has-been, Sox won't pick him up.

Wow.

not much for MLB subjects today but this one I will...

Who knows what will happen Prince's future. Will he balloon up even more like his old man? Could Adam Dunn be convinced that more money being a DH is worth it?

They'd better get Konerko signed before doing anything else!

I guess Ozzie is abandoning the DH by committee he went with last year after not signing Thome?!?!?

Is Andruw Jones coming back? I could picture some pretty good eating contests in the clubhouse between Andruw and Prince.

I'd throw Melky Cabrera in the mix. Dude can take an entire Taco Bell restaurant off line all by himself.

How about the Hefty Hombre's (Uribe, Sandoval) in San Fran?

Anyway - what's this about the Sox breaking off talks because of Gordan Beckham?

It's Prince Fielder! And Beckham took a notable step backwards last season.

i agree, you gotta give up something to get a stud. Bye Bye Gordon Beckham.

Ever since the White Sox lost Jermaine Dye, they were never able to pick up on the offensive side of the game last year which was the reason they lost and could not keep up with the Minnesota Twins last season. They need to add bats but they need good averages in there. Pierzynski can no longer hit for average and he really hasn't been able to his whole career and Paul Konerko might not even be on the team. They do have Gordon Beckham on the rise in the franchise but other than that they don't have anything they can look forward to in their future and Carlos Quentin had one good year and was a bust last year. Not many people expect him to put up a 20 home run season again. So, they have a lot of work to do and Kenny Williams needs to get on the phone and work out some deals before the White Sox find themselves in last place in the central.

Yankees 27....the reason the SOX couldn't keep up with the twinkies was pitching, not hitting. Check out the 2010 hitting stats. As for Fielder...NO!
