08:28 AM ET 11.10 | Yes, it was in a loss, but the fans sure enjoyed being there when it happened. Derek Boogaard, scoreless in his last 234 games, found the net, scoring on a slap shot for what he said was the first time since 2003 in the ECHL. But the Rangers blew three leads and finally fell to the East-leading Washington Capitals, 5-3.

...and the gates of h3ll will open

he actually cranked a pretty good shot, it was not a tap in, and did not accidentally bounce off his stick

November 10, 2010  08:40 AM ET

but this is why they paid the big bucks to bring him to the Big Apple... to score goals and play good D

Now we gotta listen to Hank...

November 10, 2010  09:31 AM ET

I think Hank sent Neuvirth a Boogaard doll with a skull & crossbones in one hand and holding a little goal net in the other. Mike is now in therapy.

"Scoring for the first time since 2003"...

Nice signing...Good luck with that Rangers fans.

It was a nice shot. However, it was a little weird that one of his teammates fished out the puck, handed it to him and Boogaard immediately started punching it. Natural instincts don't die even after scoring.

C'mon. he may get hot and score again in 2015!

I am in no way defending Boograad or the Rangers but it was 2005-2006 where he had two. Which by the way he is on pace to shattering(doubling) his single season career high point total of six.

And I missed it.... I was recording the Canucks' game and watching something else even though Wash-Rangers was on another channel.

Kill the cap.

How about Carey Price? Letting Halak go doesn't seem too bad now does it?

I know it's working out for the Blues so far

I will. 2 shutouts so far.

He looked like he was worth more than a brazillion $ a year compared to his competition last night?

Habs will make the playoffs and win at least one round.

I was at the game. Sweet shot, lousy team play. Why did we pick-up this guy Glen? I'll wait another 234 games to hear what you got.

Or someone was sticking pins in a Neuvirth doll.

Seeing as it happens once every2 blue moons I'll let him have his moment. As Don Taylor would say " Top shelf where Mom keeps the peanut butter "
