09:51 AM ET 11.13 | Clippers owner Donald Sterling let everyone sitting courtside at the Pistons-Clippers games Friday night in on a secret that hasn't been well-kept. "He wants to buy the Pistons," Sterling said of billionaire financier Tom Gores, who was seated next to him. Gores, a Michigan State grad, wasn't as dramatic in his words, but make no mistake: despite Mike Ilitch's status as the front-runner to purchase the Pistons, Gores is still very much interested in Detroit's NBA franchise.
