09:56 AM ET 11.14 | Texas coach Mack Brown told ESPN's College GameDay that the Longhorns' plummet nationally and in the Big 12 South reflected "a perfect storm of problems this season." The interview, conducted last week and broadcast Saturday before the Longhorns' 33-16 loss to Oklahoma State, focused on several of Brown's comments after a home loss Oct. 23 to Iowa State. Brown was asked about suggesting he didn't trust his players or assistants. "If I can't trust our coaches and I can't trust our players that we can be ready to play 12 times a year, that's the worst thing that can happen to a head football coach," Brown said. ESPN reporter Tom Rinaldi wondered why Brown had broached the sensitive topic. "Because it's true," Brown said. "Why not say it?" Brown said he wasn't prepared to talk about possible staff changes until the end of the season. He bristled at a suggestion by ESPN commentator Lee Corso that he might have lost the team. "With all due respect to coach Corso, he hasn't seen us practice in the 13 years I've been here," Brown said. "He doesn't know our team. He doesn't know whether we've lost our team or not."

How do you guys really feel? No sense hiding it now...out with it...

Corso is an idiot, but America seems to love watching a befuddled geriatric man dress up like stuffed animals. The AARP ought to demand a cease and desist based on elder abuse.

Yep, Corso is a jackazz. Always has been, always will.

November 14, 2010  11:22 AM ET

Mack should have bought a QB. I hear a good one was up for sale this year.

And Blinndergarten is only a couple hours from Austin.

I could go on...

But - we're here having fun... no?

dSPN hacks get off Coach Mack's back. He's a national champ therefore deserves due respect. The Longhorns will be back next season.

Not a Corso fan but...MB may not have lost his team but his team is lost. Floating around the ocean without a clue where to go.

Corso may indeed be the idiot, or worse, that several of you claim he is. Now, let's for a moment pretend that the statement he made about Mack and UT was made by someone who was more "respected." What would you say then?

Corso may be silly, but I'll bet he's not the only one who feels Mack may have "lost" this team. Texas will inevitably rise back to the top...but right now they are struggling badly, and Coach Brown looks somewhat lost himself at times.

I am NOT bashing Texas. They have a phenomenal program and, IMO, a very good HC. Right now, however, something is very wrong in Austin.

How many titles does Corso have? Exactly. He needs to stick to GameDay and every stupid gameday commercial. All he does is pick the crowd favorite for the win, he never has anything analytical to say anyway. Every fan should be nervous if Corso picks their team to win.

Nice... Booster donations must have fallen off due to the economy.

So what youre saying is "Go back to doing what you do"??????

November 14, 2010  12:08 PM ET

Ok FJ and JRM, let us know what the deal is. Only time I saw tex this year was when the bruins ran all over them. Lotta pre-season hype. I know the O was going to have growing pains, but the D was supposed to be absolutely lights out. ??????????

November 14, 2010  12:11 PM ET

Corso could have said "So what youre saying Coach Brown, is that your team sucks.. Can i quote you on that????" And then everybody would have considered him a genius? He was using Mack's words, just because Mack Brown is part of that clueless, geriatric group, dont be so bent on Corso for using the quote.. After that stinkhole the Longhorns left in Austin last night against OSU, Mack has to start getting worried.. They look BAD, REAL BAD..

Kinda touchy, huh? So Texas is having a tough year and I guess it's all of the sudden against some unwritten rule that NOBODY from ESPN is allowed to say something negative about a team that's STRUGGLING? Correct me if I'm wrong, isn't it the JOB of the college football talking heads to give their opinion, right or wrong?

November 14, 2010  12:17 PM ET

Sorry Coach Brown. You don't get to pick and choose the questions asked of you in a press conference or an interview. If you wanted your Mommy to interview you, and ask nice softball questions, you should have said so.

No, Mack, these are the "bigs", and when the team that played just a few months ago for the national championship is struggling, people want answers. If the job is too hard, well, there's always retirement. Until then, though, roll with it, smile, put on your best west-Texas attitude and cooly answer the questions. Otherwise, by fuming and fulminating against honest questions, your team, your coaches, the administrators and the fans will begin to question if you are, indeed, the right man to coach the 'Horns.

LONGHORNS SUCK!!!!!
